2 :
yes I agree with you
3 :
exactly it makes no sense to me
4 :
The packaging, and the fact that it's now more in demand.
5 :
Because then drug companies make more money selling us pills for all the problems we have being overweight...It's the food and drug administration...they are in this together.
6 :
I agree! I think it's a conspiracy to give the health care industry even more money... Overweight people need to see the doctor and take prescription meds more than healthy people do.
7 :
healthy food isnt that expensive. if you would quit wasting money on junk food, maybe you would have money for health food!!! besides, you just answered ur question.
8 :
True.

With health food...especially if you're talking about organic, then they have to buy so many licenses and stuff that it's waaay more expensive to make or grow.
10 :
It is cheaper to come up with chemicals than with real food

i know and the goverment wonder why there are so many obese people in the world.....good question heres a star.
12 :
Junk food is crappy, health food isnt. Crappy things are usually cheap.
13 :
YES, everyone deserves healthy food. However, most people prefer junk food!!!!
14 :
I have often wondered that myself. It's no wonder Americans are more obese now than ever before. Everyone is trying to stretch their dollar.
15 :
i deff agree and organic foods are way expensive too! i dont get it They're saying Americas are the most obese country and we need to lose weight and yet the healthy foods are expensive around here and theres more junk food then anything!
16 :
AMEN!!! If I could afford non-processed fresh organic stuff, that is ALL I would buy!(and being since it isn't treated nearly as much as processed, you think it would cost less!!!)
17 :
The best always costs more.
18 :
you are delusional.....an apple cost a matter of pennies
19 :
Things cost as much as people are willing to spend on them. People who think they are going to get healthy are suckers and will therefore spend more money on it.

supply and demand. most everyone eats junk food, so there is lots of it, so it is sold by quantity, and cheaply. health food isn't as popular, so it tends to be sold to a select audience, who take a snobbish pride in paying more.

Yes I completely agree with you It's probably because junk food is cheaper to make in large amounts, healthy food has to be cultivated and shipped over long distances in short amounts of time In Europe, its the other way around and i think its better that way, but Ive met ppl in Eastern Europe for example who love American junkfood
22 :
I totally agree. They just want people to be fat pigs thats all.
23 :
I agree with some of the people above. I think they WANT us to get fat. That way the Health Care providers wll make more money because we'll have to take pills and stuff.
24 :
I agree! Get the feeling the food industry doesn't care how fat everyone gets and whether we all die of clogged arteries? Maybe it's time we start growing our food. At least then we know there aren't any nasty additives. Yes, health food should be much more affordable. What do we have to do to make that possible? Petitions? Peaceful assemblies? Flooding the food industry with lots of letters stating our desire for reasonably-priced healthy food? It's not enough just to have these ideas. We need to ban together or have a representative work for the good of the people.

Because the junk food is cheap to make. Things like High Fructose Corn Syrup help to make it cheaper because it's a fructose product that can be made in mass quantities and is super sweet so they don't have to use as much. The organic and healthy options- they have to use a little bit more expensive products to make their product so the cost goes up. But in the long run, if your buying junk food more than healthier things it adds up more
