What separates health care from any other commodity that we need, and why do we need the government to provide it for us? What's next? Government grocery stores, Government housing? Look how well that's gone. If you don't have food, you die right? If you don't have housing you die, right?

As long as there are people who can pay for others, it'll work just fine. I won't have to worry about putting gas in my car, I won't have to worry about paying for my house. All my needs taken care of and payed for by someone else.

hey you american person based on whats happened in history, a mixed market economy is always best, communism doesnt work because people cant work together pure capitalism doesnt work becasue because poeple are too greedy if george bush hadn't loosened government control on the houseing market then we wouldnt have had that recession besides, the canadian health care system is fine.

Because a lot of people CANNOT get health care for a variety of reasons, sometimes just because they are over 40 and their employer won't provide it. If you have great need, yes, the government will help with housing, food, and clothing. But you don't have an evil corporation keeping you from getting those things. I would far rather have the government help us with paying for health care costs than some profit drive corporatocracy who would rather see you die because then they don't have to pay your bills any more
