Is your food or your health more important to you

Is your food or your health more important to you?
Many people say if I can't eat what I want then what good is living? Would you rather be unheathy or eat not what you think you want.

I have learned that you really do need to watch what you eat, I feel 300% better since I started eating less crap for food. I do agree though, you should not give up what you enjoy, if that is what matters to you. I will never give up ice cream!
2 :
ofcourse health coz if u are healthy u can eat whatever you want but if u are not then u have to eat what a doc prescribes
3 :
I do eat what I want. However, most of what I eat is 100% natural and healthy or close to it. As somebody else said, I feel much better since I started eating food the way God made it, or as close as possible.
4 :
I eat whatever I like indiscriminately. Period. Not eating what you like harms your psychological health mind you. But I do use vehicles less frequently and I walk a lot. So that helps me to stay slim!

My brother in law died last year. He was 49 years old. He left behind a wife and two daughters. He suffered a massive heart attack. He was very overweight and had been for many years. Unfortunately, his diet had a big role to play for him being overweight. He went on many different diets, and of course, whilst he lost weight on them, as soon as he stopped, he put all the weight back on again, plus more. He then went back to his unhealthy way of eating and no exercise. He always ate what he wanted. Never ate what he should have. He was also a very heavy smoker. There is only a time limit to how much abuse the body can take. We only have one life so I personally like to look after mine and it has to be with healthy eating. Yes occasionally I eat a take away meal, chocolate, biscuits, alcohol etc, but only in moderation. It is all about getting the balance right. So I eat a healthy diet (occasionally having cakes, biscuits, etc) and take regular exercise and do not smoke. In the hope that this will help extend my life span longer than my brother in law's so I will be around for my children as they grow up and possibly their children too

9 :
healthy food with a pinch of junk I like a nice cold salad with fish and few homemade fries on the side and a nice gulp of wine to send it all down
10 :
I prefer more healthy food, but junk food, and healthy food in US is almost the same thing. Because almost nothing that we eat (that are bought from stores) are natural or healthy. This is why you have so many fat people in USA, because 97% of the food here, no matter what it is, its not healthy and contains a lot of chemicals. But I would rather eat healthy, because I smoke cigarettes time to time, so eating junk food will make my health worse.

Health Code Violation in Virginia food service

Health Code Violation in Virginia food service?
Now that Virginia has the (kind of ) no smoking in restaurants/bars, a local restaurant has set up two big ash pits outside. The kind in a huge pot filled with sand. They make the servers go out and clean out the cigarette butts from it during their shifts. Considering servers also handle food, isn't this a health code violation? Anywhere I can find it? Tried doing a search, didn't see anything.

No the violation would be if the servers didn't wash their hands after cleaning them

How is chewing & spitting my food harmful to my health

How is chewing & spitting my food harmful to my health?
I get cravings that I just can't ignore, and sometimes I just want to taste the food without having to take in the cals/fat content. I only do it with bad foods, like chocolate.. . how is this bad though besides that it qualifies as an eating disorder symptom i am controlling myself, it's want i want to do. i am controlling myself, it's want i want to do.

Well, it's bad if you're eating food and then throwing it up and/or putting food in your mouth and not giving your body the nutrients that it requires to function properly. Besides the fact that you're wasting food when people are starving around the world, there's not going to be that much of an impact on your health (unless you're doing this with meals). Why not just try to learn to control yourself?
2 :
although you are just tasting the food esentially, once an article of food touches your tongue you start to digest whatever is in it. That's just the way your body works. So either way, bad food or not, you are digesting whatever you eat. This spitting habit is not a good one. Try just sampling small portions instead of taking a bite and spitting it out. Also, often times you get better taste when you swallow your food.
3 :
It is not harmful to your health at all, but it still may be harmful towards your diet. You are still taking in a portion of the calories, and especially with chocolate, you are not spitting the whole amount out as it melts on your tongue and unless you scrape that chocolate off, you are essentially taking in a few calories from that chocolate, chips, etc whatever it may be. I suggest treating yourself to the whole bar (if reasonable size) or even a fun sized bar, but making up for it later by eating a meal heavy on greens/veggies. Also, chewing and spitting your food may also lead to an eating disorder, watch out for that. Best of luck with your diet!
4 :
don't kind yourself, it's not a symptom it's a full blown eating disorder. by definition an eating disorder is a compulsion to eat in a manner that disturbs the physical, mental and physcological health. chewing and spitting is an unhealthy relationship between food and the body. you need to get some counseling ASAP

Is Honey Nut Granola (bought at health food store) good for dieter

Is Honey Nut Granola (bought at health food store) good for dieter?

Not if you're looking for a low calorie snack. Consider it's loaded with honey, sugar, butter/oil, and nuts which, although they are "good fats," are still very high in fat. Just because it's from the health food store doesn't mean it's healthy! Read the nutrition facts!
2 :
Sure, but oatmeal would be better. Just be careful on your portion size

Eating 12000 calories, does it matter if you eat health or junk food

Eating 12000 calories, does it matter if you eat health or junk food?
I love sweets way too much but I have to lose up to at least 20 pounds. I want to cut down calories to 1200 and I'm active..I burn about 1000 calories by jogging and speed walking on the treadmill. Would I get the same result if I ate 1200 calories worth of sweet stuff instead of eating 1200 calories of veggies and fruits? Would my body look the same if I was to lose weight by eating fruits and vegetables?

You would not get the same results if you ate 1200 calories worth of junk food, as compared to 1200 calories of a healthy diet. There is a safe and healthy way that you can eat 300 calories a day while still getting all the nutrients and protein your body needs. It is a bread "Hunza Diet Bread" Hunza Diet Bread is a delicious, dense, chewy bread that's very nutritious and is almost impervious to spoilage. The following recipe makes a huge batch of approximately 60 (sixty) x 2 inch squares, high in protein, vitamins and minerals. Keeps weeks at room temperature, even longer in the fridge and indefinitely in the freezer. The recipe for this wonderful bread is as follows: Recipe 4 cups of water 3.5 (three & one half) to 4 pounds of natural buckwheat or millet flour 1.5 (one & one half) cups of canola oil 1.5 (one & one half) cups of natural unrefined sugar 16 ounces of honey 16 ounces of molasses 4 ounces of powdered soya milk (half cup) 1 teaspoon sea salt 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg 2 teaspoons baking powder (non aluminium) Hunza Diet Bread has a taste that is very satisfying and chewy all on its own, but you may also add if required, apricots, raisins, chopped walnuts, almonds, sliced dates to the above ingredients. Mix ingredients. Grease and lightly flour cooking pan(s). Ideally use baking trays with about 1 inch high sides. Pour batter in pan(s) half an inch thick over the base. Bake at about 300 degrees farenheit (150 C.) for 1 hour. After cooking, dry the bread in the oven for two (2) hours at a very low heat - 90 degrees farenheit (50 C). After it is cooled tip out and cut into approx 2 inch x 2 inch squares. Store it wrapped in cloth in a container. You may need to repeat the baking depending on the size of your baking pan, and oven, until all the mixture has been used. Hunza Diet Bread is made from natural buckwheat or millet flour. It is rich in phosphorous, potassium, iron, calcium, manganese and other minerals, as nothing has been destroyed in the preparation from the wheat. Thus it contains the essential nourishment of the grain. This is why you must ONLY use natural buckwheat or millet flour to make your own Hunza Diet Bread..... Good luck and good health .. bon appetite! Suggestions to lose weight with HUNZA DIET BREAD There are many ways to do it. This is another benefit. It's flexible. Here are some typical plans. Each piece of bread is thinly spread with butter for a total of approximately 100 calories. Plan A: Eat 1 piece every 5 hours of the 16 hours you're awake. That's 3 pieces which total 300 calories. This is the fastest way to lose weight I know of. It works faster than any high protein diet. Why? You have more energy and burn more calories. Second, the high fiber bread keeps your digestive system regular. Third, your body stays healthy. A healthy body means a properly functioning metabolic system. Plan B: Really gorge yourself with the bread. Two pieces every four hours for a total of 8 pieces but only 800 calories. You'll feel full all day. In fact, I doubt many people could eat this much of the bread.

your question says 12,000 calories...lol but yes it does matter if u eat junk food instead of healthy food even if u r only eating 1,200 a day. the reason is because regardless of the calories, there are a lot of unhealthy fats in junk food and sugar, which by the way, sugar = fat. when u eat sugar, it pretty much always turns directly into fat. plus, all that junk food wont give u the enrgy u need to work out and the protein u need to stay full and curb appetite as well as to build muscle.
3 :
Vegetables and fruit form the bulk of the diet with very small portions of protein and carbs. Very difficult to adhere to the strict regime the diet requires. Will experience metabolism slow down because of low calories and will lead to starvation response, which will eat away at the muscle tissue while retaining the fat. All these diets work because of a drastic cut in calories, when this happens our metabolic rate can be brought down in a matter of 36 hours by as much as 50% which means your body is now burning only half of your calories. To compound matters further, hunger kicks in after a period of inadequate eating setting you up for over eating and binging.
4 :
If you find out how long it takes you to burn 50 calories on the treadmill, and then compare it to how long it takes you to drink 50 calories of orange juice, you'll quickly realise the secret is in the diet, not the gym. What you need to do is record how long it takes for a particular meal to keep you satisfied. You're looking for the most number of hours for the least number of calories. And yes, count every meal until you start losing weight over a period of say 2 months

Honestly, I don't think any foods are BAD. I think that's just a terrible way of thinking. I know there are foods that you should eat less of, but I don't eliminate anything from my diet. I eat what I like and I eat healthy. I know if I didn't like it, no matter how healthy it was, I wouldn't eat it. People are too afraid of food. It's not the enemy, its how much you eat coupled with exercise lol. At least, that's how I feel. Props to those that can eliminate things though
