All I take is a multi vitamin and a calcium supplement. Since I've started, I have felt a lot better physically. A lot of times we don't get the proper vitamins and minerals we need. Vitamins do help.

If you are talking about one thing that is better than any other I would have to say a good brand of a Multi-Vitamin. I started taking "All in One" a powder that can be mixed into a juice or in water taken once a day. It is complete, natural and high potent formula for different needs, Four in all I think. I have im proved so much in the last six months that I wouldn't do with out it. It also has a complete list of minerals and enzymes needed for your age group. The quality of today's food is so poor that we all need the supplements to sustain a good healthy mind and body. I also take a good fish oil (Omega-3) every day.

First I take Omega 3 fish oil because my family has a history of Alzheimer and my husband psychiatrists say no proof yet but many doctors are taking it because it does have some promise. Now for my ache knees, I take a supplement call fluid joint. it comes in a cream that you can rub on and in pills that you take daily. The cream smells like Ben Gay, but takes away pain immediately and the pills, well without them, my knees hurt a lot and with them I can continue to bicycle daily.

Try a product called Krill Oil, absolutely amazing for what it has done for me and it has better properties than basic Omega 3 oil.

I am using a liquid supplement vitamin that has given me more energy, better rest, my skin is healthier and I just feel a lot better. From what I understand liquid absorbs in your blood stream quicker than pill form (only about 20% goes to your blood stream from pills) and that is why, in most cases, you feel results faster

anyone have good health food ideas? help please!?
I already have the exercise part down i workout for 45 minutes 5 days a week at school at 6am. But, i still dont really know how to start my diet food plan anyone have ideas or anything? please help!

If you want an actual plan then you just have to sit down and think about what is right for you however I find it hard to plan my meals or calculate exactly how many calories I eat in a day so one way to solve it is to set your self a target every week such as, don't have any seconds, eat at least 5 a day everyday, that way you are still giving yourself freedom to choose whatever meal you feel like but you can cut down on what you eat. Another way to diet is to make sure that you chew every mouth full of food 30 times so that 1. you taste the food( that's always nice) and 2. your body has time to tell you when too stop. Good Luck

These are rules that I follow in my daily life (even thought I'm not on a diet anymore)... 1. I don't eat carbs (no pastas, rice, breads, cereals, SWEETS, or anything made out of flour...) 2. My main sources of protein are lean meats (skinless chicken breast), white fishes (haddock) or egg whites... 3. I eat only non-strachy vegetables (my favs are asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower, radishes and spinach) and I don't eat potatoes, peas, corn and other starchy veggies. 4. I eat fruit in moderation (usually I'll have a piece of fruit on mondays and fridays). Fruits that I eat most often is grapefruit and raspberries (in right amounts of course) because they're quite low in natural sugar if I would compare them to bananas or grapes... 5. I eat a 100g pot of natural plain yogurt almost everyday (FAGE Total 0% Authentic Greek Strained Yogurt !!! I only eat this one because it's higher in protein and lower in carbs than any other natural yogurts out there) and it was proven that fat free dairy, especially yogurts helps to reduce belly fat. 6. I only drink water and green tea (2 cups a day) 7. No junk food or sweets EVER This is pretty much all what I eat. I do light exercises 3 times a day for about 25 minutes just to keep my body in shape

Is it dangerous for health to drink uv treated water and to eat food cooked in microwave oven?
Most of the people says that drinking uv treated water and eating food from microwave oven is one of the reason of cancer. Is it true? As my friend Thomson replied that all natural water have treated by uv rays of sun. Can he explain me why then it needed to treat water again by uv rays? It is scientifically proven that direct rays from sun on your body may causing skin cancer. Mostly on that part of world where layer of ozone is too thin. About microwave oven you said molecules. Which type of molecules they are? Can you explain for me and all please?

I've never heard any evidence to lead me to believe that is true, but that does not mean it isn't of course. I do know that it is a really bad idea to eat in a microwave oven. Very uncomfortable, and if anyone turns it on, you can be seriously injured. Avoid doing so whenever possible.

What a load of old crap. All natural water was subjected to UV rays from the sun from day one. Microwave ovens, provided they are not defective are 100 percent safe. The food is merely shaken by the waves 'rubbing' the molecules together to make them hot.....................

Everything is reported as causing cancer nowadays, don't take too much stock in it, do your own research and see what other people think about it. I have heard about microwaves being caustic but not from anyone in the medical profession.

Take some ground beef that is frozen. Put in Microwave to defrost. Leave it and cook it. That should make you sick and you will never eat anything cooked in a microwave

can styrofoam cause health problems with hot food?
Hi my mom once told me that styrofoam causes problems if you put it in the microwave. I've been ordering take out food alot and i wonder..., what if the styrofoam was melting because the food was so hot. Would this still cause health problems?

the heat kinda melts the styrofoam so that's why it's bad.

I don't know for sure. I have never heard anyone else say that. I have always said that I believe styrofoam plates, melting with your food, will give you cancer. Someday we will all hear about on the news

I've never heard of matching foods with blood types. But my favorite way is still to steam them or boil in a little water and eat with a little melted butter or mayo. Also, look up 'Stuffed Artichokes' - have never had them - but looks delicious!

Personally I hate those uggghhh I just hate hate hate them. But I guess you have no choice but I would say Steam then or try grilling them. It could make it taste a little better but soup is not a good choice the point is really try to add other taste so you can't taste that horrible taste in your mouth. Hope this helps!!!! :)

How one cooks and eats an artichoke is not obvious from its appearance. If you've always wondered how to cook and eat the darn things, here are the steps: How to Cook and Eat an Artichoke How to Cook an Artichoke 1. If the artichokes have little thorns on the end of the leaves, take a kitchen scissors and cut of the thorned tips of all of the leaves. This step is mostly for aesthetics as the thorns soften with cooking and pose no threat to the person eating the artichoke. 2. Slice about 3/4 inch to an inch off the tip of the artichoke. 3. Pull off any smaller leaves towards the base and on the stem. 4. Cut excess stem, leaving up to an inch on the artichoke. The stems tend to be more bitter than the rest of the artichoke, but some people like to eat them. Alternatively you can cut off the stems and peel the outside layers which is more fibrous and bitter and cook the stems along with the artichokes. 5. Rinse the artichokes in running cold water. 6. In a large pot, put a couple inches of water, a clove of garlic, a slice of lemon, and a bay leaf (this adds wonderful flavor to the artichokes). Insert a steaming basket. Add the artichokes. Cover. Bring to a boil and reduce heat to simmer. Cook for 25 to 45 minutes or until the outer leaves can easily be pulled off. Note: artichokes can also be cooked in a pressure cooker (about 15-20 minutes cooking time). Cooking time depends on how large the artichoke is, the larger, the longer it takes to cook. How to Eat an Artichoke Artichokes may be eaten cold or hot, but I think they are much better hot. They are served with a dip, either melted butter or mayonaise. My favorite dip is mayo with a little bit of balsamic vinegar mixed in. 1. Pull off outer petals, one at a time. 2. Dip white fleshy end in melted butter or sauce. Tightly grip the other end of the petal. Place in mouth, dip side down, and pull through teeth to remove soft, pulpy, delicious portion of the petal. Discard remaining petal. Continue until all of the petals are removed. 3. With a knife or spoon, scrape out and discard the inedible fuzzy part (called the "choke") covering the artichoke heart. The remaining bottom of the artichoke is the heart. Cut into pieces and dip into sauce to eat. The below website also has two really interesting looking recipes that use artichokes. Artichokes, fresh, are a lot of work to prep but worth the time and trouble if you want fresh ones. Just trim off the leaves, cut the top off, scoop out the thistle-y choke, and viola. Or you can steam the leaves, dip them in butter, and run them through your front teeth. The edible part will come off in your mouth. I used canned hearts or quarters if they're going into something where it won't really matter. I love them on pizza and in pasta dishes especially.

I find that simplest is best. Start by getting a serrated blade and cutting off the top half of the hard inedible leaves, and snipping the spines off the lower ones. Peel the stem (don't cut it off) and steam for about 30-45 minutes or until the leaves pull off with no resistance. Serve with melted butter and garlic for dipping. The lower outer leaves can be easily plucked, and scrape them of their meaty morsels. Once you start getting into the purple center leaves, remove all remaining leaves and carefully remove the fuzzy choke with a table knife (I like a grapefruit spoon for this). Enjoy the heart.

Artichokes are really good for you, but that whole eat for your blood type thing has now been totally discredited. That doesn't mean you shouldn't eat artichokes, though! there is nothing healthier than local grown food and buying from local farm markets keep dollars in the local economy. many states are actively promoting this, but Il. excludes low income citizens from participating. Shame on Illinois leaders. The future of the U.S. depends on the success of it's cities, large and small. To address the most important issues of these cities one must focus on priorities and recognize health as the most important, and diet most important in illness prevention. While American mayors work at trying to build their economies by working on infrastructure and attracting industry, they overlook the $s (billions in assistance $s) that pass through their stores regularly. Transportation cost alone are stagering & all that cash leaves the area for no good reason. Local governments are now asking for billions in assistance for jobs. (?jobs) A little of that money and effort should go to encouraging startup growing opporations to employ those who need jobs and to produce the healthiest food for the citizens. While people are loosing everything cash is slipping through our fingers and healthcare is a disaster. Pipedreams of new industry should be set aside for real hope in diet, health and new jobs.

They probably don't want to deal with recouping from farmers who might be ill equipped to take the food stamps.

In Illinois its all about taxes.The vendors are not recognized without a tax number.

I was laid off in the early 80,s for over a year. I bartered as much as I could. I even found a dentist to barter with. took him about a half an hour to work on me and I worked 40 hours of hard labor for him, but not being in pain anymore it was worth every minute. works with farmers as well as they Always have things that need done

Too much bureaucracy for just a little bit of money that the farmers would earn by accepting food stamps. They are not equipped with dealing with all the red tape the use of food stamps incur.

If you can pay at your Local Farmers Market with Visa or MC, you can pay by Electronic Debit from the Card Welfare gives to you! The CARD is Replenished 'once' a Month with your allotted amount and when you receive the 'register tape' it will calculate how much money you have 'left' on the Monthly card. A Friend of mine got some help when he broke 2 legs in an Accident. He lived alone, supporting himself. ACTUAL food (paper) "STAMPS" no longer EXIST. It is all done by a Debit card ..NOT ACTUAL STAMPS
