What other countries besides the U.S. market "health food"

What other countries besides the U.S. market "health food"?
I'm not talking about the obvious good for you foods like fruits, vegis and such, but rather the "eat this piece of crappy food that tastes like cardboard because it's healthy for you..no really it is".

most of the world have companies that market "health food"
2 :
I would say most of them also. Here in Australia we do, I know they do in the UK, throughout Europe and at least Singapore as I noticed products there

KROGERS!

Both, I think. Try Wholefoods if it is near you or some health food store. There are also plenty of places online where you can order them, and maybe even get a good wholesale deal. Maybe even try food co-ops too.
3 :
Your best bet is probably Health Food stores. But if you are wanting bulk sizes try BJ's, Costco, or Sam's. They are all Wholesale stores!! Also if you are just wanting bottles try looking for free trials. I just got a 30 day supply of Acai Max 4:1 Extract for $2.95, just paid shipping and handleing. I hope this helps

home made food is better and tastes better
2 :
It is alot easier for me to have my meals mailed to my home. I am currently on the Medifast Diet. It teaches you to eat 5-6 small meals a day every 2-3 hours to speed up your metabolism. The foods are convenient and I can take them any where I go. That has helped ALOT with my weight loss. I have lost 26 lbs. so far.
3 :
Eat home cooked food that way you know what it is cooked with and what is added, to much sodium is bad and alot of the delivery food has a high content of it

What would happen if everyone in the US sued fast food companies for the health problems that they cause?
How would this affect the US economy, the fast food market, the average US citizen? Also, what long term affect would this have on our country? How would this affect the US economy, the fast food market, the average US citizen? Also, what long term affect would this have on our country? My reasoning behind this is that I was asked to come up with a terrorist organization and carry out a terrorist attack in one of my classes and I wanted to think of an attack that would not result in genocide. I don't believe in it so I was trying to come up with something that would still be considered an attack, but not necessarily one that would result in death.

ahhhhh did'nt u put this stuff in ur mouth urself?/ they did not hold u down and make u eat that crap did they? when are u goona take responsiblity for ur own actions????
2 :
Hopefully judges would tell everybody to go to Hades. People make their own choices, and fast food companies have not cause health problems. People making too many poor choices have pickled their own bodies.
3 :
A lot of people would lose and look really stupid. Besides, EVERYONE in America couldn't sue fast food. I mean, some people who own fast food companies ARE AMERICAN!!! And, I don't know about you, but I wouldn't sue my own company. Many fast food companies are starting to print the nutritional facts about their food on the packaging it comes in. I think most of the court cases would be thrown out. Most lawyers would probably tell everyone that they didn't have a case in the first place.
4 :
Any smart person would not waste the time or money on a lawsuit, but rather quit eating there and hit the gym. If only life were so simple.
5 :
It would never happen because they didnt force you to eat there.....so the agruement that there is a valid lawsuit is null and void....
6 :
I'd be denied my Crispy Chicken Bacon-Swiss sandwich and curly fries and cherry turn-over. I wouldn't be happy.
7 :
Captain Obvious would have to fly in and slap every one of us across the face, hard.
8 :
Lawyers would win, thats all.
9 :
The same thing that happened when everyone sued the tobacco industry for their health problems after choosing to smoke voluntarily. The ole Big Mac would be taxed to death with a sin tax and the funds used to offset the cost of health care.
10 :
Well what would happen is you would put tens of thousands of people out of work, you would crush a part of the "food services" economy, which would hurt shipping, because that is now food product that is not being sent across the country. You would also hurt farmers because there would not be as high of a demand for their product. Then you would also hurt a whole group of food science developers, that create products for the industry. It would probably destroy the fast food market as you know it, the average citizen would have to learn how to cook and shop. Also you would create a backlash towards all restaurants that are not fast food restaurants. P.S. Fast Food Restaurants do not cause health problems, people eating double quarter pounders with cheese like they were Tic Tacs causes health problems.
11 :
It would raise the prices of the burgers and fries we'd all continue buying anyway. Essentially, Americans would collectively pay a few lawyers to force the restaurants to jack up their prices in order to pay for the lawsuit. In the end, all class action lawsuits are eventually paid for by the very people they were intended to support. Same thing happened to tobacco.
12 :
Name one health problem the fast food industry has CAUSED ......... Any health problems related to the consumption of those high calorie and high fat foods are solely the responsibility of the consumers themselves. NO one forced them to go McD's, BK, Arbys, Carls Junior etc.... No one held a gun to their heads and said order the jumbo meal or else. Why have so many Americans stopped taking responsibility for their own behavior ??? These are the same IDIOTS who blamed the Tobacco Companies for their lung disease and cancers. I could care less if big tobacco told you smoking was perfectly safe, common sense tells us that taking smoke into your lungs is a bad thing.........
13 :
The only cases with a chance of survival would be the "consumer expectations" cases, and even those would be iffy. The real effect would be a huge clog on the already overburdened judicial system, causing many people with legitimate injuries to have to wait longer to be compensated. Sorry, but mass lawsuits would not be considered a terrorist attack, although your teacher might reward your creativity. Try thinking of eco-terrorists, since their "attacks" don't usually involve killing people.
14 :
It would properly be ruled a frivolous lawsuit, and "everyone" would wind up paying the companies legal costs as well as their own. The lawyers would make out like bandits!
15 :
Infiltrate and crash the computer networks of the big three credit reporting agencies and the major banks. This would bring our economy to it's knees and cause instant chaos I an not sure about the fast food stuff.
16 :
the courts would be backed up for umpteen years and the fast food companies would continue to operate all the same. if you have money you can get away with almost anything.
17 :
how can you sue for something which you were not forced to do
18 :
I am so sick of hearing about fat people suing places like McD and other food places because the food they got there made them fat. Or sueing because the customer burned her inner thighs because the dumb woman set the hot coffee between her thighs while driving a car. These people are disgusting leeches on society. They take no responsibility for thier own stupid actions and expect to become rich as a result. In the long run everyone else suffers because the business' insurance premiums are elevated, causing the cost of the food to be raised. If you are such a glutton that you become fat, that is your problem. If you are such an idiot that you drive with a hot drink between your legs, you deserve to be burned. These people cost all of us because they take up court time, paid for mostly by the taxpayers, and making it necessary for those who patronize resturants and fast food places to pay more for the food. It has a ripple effect and affects us all in one fashion or another. The judges should throw these idiots and thier nuisance suits out of court. I think the juries that gave the idiot who burned her legs millions of dollars did so because they are also stupid and figure the big corporations can pay so why not make them. Some juries are as stupid as the people bringing on the suit

What would happen if the government would stop Section 8 Housing assistance, food stamps & free health car

I think it should be more limited and much harder to get! There are people that have lived through this system their whole lives. I personally think its a big problem with our country!

And your solution is to just cut it off tomorrow and let what happens happen? Or do you have a real solution? It's easy to just complain.
3 :
I think it should be easier to get! However, it SHOULD be more regulated and there needs to be more rules. Like no welfare after two years. Not five like it is now. It should be easier to get. Because the people that really need it don't have a way to get it, the ones who are getting it are usually the ones with the resources to abuse the system. We can't make it harder to get because then the liberals will be beating down our doors and have something else to nag us about like never ending wives. We need to help those out who can't help themselfs. However I don't owe anyone a dime who doesn't get off their ass and try to work. NO I don't hand out free cash. You have to work for it in this country. America should help people. NOT BABY PEOPLE! -Connor

I've seen questions and answers on this site hinting that it may be time for a second American Revolution, considering how corrupt and incompetent the government is. If the government ended Section 8, food assistance, and health care, that, my friend, would be the spark that would ignite such a revolution.

Our country needs a safety net in order to help those that are truly in bad situations that they need assistance with. $hi+ happens.. to all of us, and we have a responsibility to our neighbors to make sure they are not left completely out in the cold when it strikes them badly. Our current system, however, just leads to chronic dependence, and needs to be altered drastically. I would propose solutions that were quite effective in the 30's.. bring back the poor farm / work farm. If you are really in trouble.. you can live on the working farm, laboring for your room and board. The conditions are not bad, they are safe, and there are provisions to transition back into mainstream life. No, you can't drink, smoke, or git your drugs here. You can't watch TV 18 hours a day. You can't play with yourself on the 'puter for more hours than you look for a job. You can't sleep in the same bed with someone you're not married to. Unless you are a family, you sleep in a bunkhouse. It's not a vacation, it's not a holiday inn. It's survival in a safe setting until you can get your s#it together. Just giving money & food to people who have proven that they do not possess the skills to take care of themselves, however, is idiotic. It also never ends.. even between generations. I know these situations firsthand.. and the system does not help these people at all. It only helps the industry that is the system.. job security for the social workers. One additional caveat; if the individual is an illegal alien that can't claim asylum? A nice big ham sandwich & a one-way bus ticket back to their home country. Sorry; we have enough of our own to support. If you are in trouble? yes, America will help you.. it's in our blood to do so. But, it will be on our terms.

LImited in what way? There are many people who work hard and do their best and get these subsidations. It's usually people like you who have never received these benefits or needed them that turn their nose up and think they are better than those that get them and in some strange way, envy them. It is a necessity for many and not something they take advantage of. As with anything, there are those who try to abuse the system -- as there is good and evil present in any situation. How long till we pass a law the requires a health department permit to serve food to the homeless

How long till we pass a law the requires a health department permit to serve food to the homeless .?
People need to stop feeding the homeless like they do with the bears and alligators . Stop feeding them and they move on and go away . Set up a place for them to eat and they mill around all day within a few miles of the free food . They start lining up 30 minutes before the food is even ready to be served . I say keep moving the food further and further out into the country and draw them away from the city . In a few weeks you could clean up the city of these smelly people always begging for spare change .

Nahhhh, you're being too kind. I say kill the homeless, and stack the bodies in trenches. Make sure you check for gold fillings when you do. And brag about it on church on Sunday. Heil Jesus!
4 :
From what I have seen of groups that give food to the homeless, they would have no problem at all getting and maintaining a permit. The ones I have seen are pretty much cleaner than any restaurant or fast food place I have ever worked at. Now, if you are trying to say that if a group is planning on giving its food away, it should be denied a permit, that will not fly. Similiar things have been tried in the past and the courts have knocked those laws down.
5 :
South Park had it right.
6 :
We should all do things to help our fellow man....... They need a hand up........ just because you dont see them doesnt mean they still arent there. Have a heart. Many of those homless faught for our country..... then we turn our back on them.... welfare pays for young people that could get out and get a job but chose to sit home and do nothing, so why shouldnt we also pay for the homeless.
7 :
I am sure any place that serves food to the public is required to have a permit and a health inspection. I pray that you never become homeless, although it might teach you some humility and compassion.
8 :
Oh, sure, brainiac! Spend money and legislature hours passing a law against giving away free food. No one is making you spend Thanksgiving at the community kitchen, but it might help your perspective.
9 :
People need to stop patronizing the religious like they do with the bears and alligators . Stop listening to them and they move on and go away . Set up a place for them to hold mass and they mill around all day within a few miles of their circus . They start lining up 30 minutes before the mass is even ready to be begin . I say keep moving the churches further and further out into the country and draw them away from the city . In a few weeks you could clean up the city of these smelly people always begging for someone else to share their superstition .
10 :
We wouldn't have so many homeless to offend your sensibilities if we hadn't closed all the mental health facilities. Many of these people are ill and don't have the capabilities that are needed to survive in our increasingly judgmental society. I hope that you are always fortunate enough to be able to look down on others who are less capable.
11 :
I worked at a fast food in the city where there were several hungry homeless people. They used to dumpster dive for morsels and if they were to get food poisoning or choke on a bone, the restaurant was liable so we had to shoo them away (that was scary). The soup kitchen was a block up the road but many would get hungry between meals or just liked choosing their own menu. Point is, although it sounds easy, moving the kitchens to the country wouldn't attract them, not enough choices. Staying in the city insures choice menus and people throw plenty away. Keep thinking though, eventually, you might come up with something.
12 :
Nice attempt at humor, but you're too late. The grocery stores here will no longer donate old (but still good) produce, etc to the local shelters. Why? Fear of law suits. Pretty sad day, when you can't donate because some idiot is just *looking* for a reason to sue. BTW - do you spend your Thanksgiving or Christmas at your local shelter? Just curious.
13 :
You don't have a shred of human empathy, do you? Do you think that you're so superior that you could never end up in that situation? It could happen to anyone. It sickens me that some people could be so heartless
