no that is not true. I live in the middle of Illinois and can attest to the fact that there are thousands of acres of soybean fields..(I'm surrounded) so no it is NOT any kind of by-product of the vegetable oil industry
2 :
There are many mixed review about soy. It is OK in it natural form. It become a problem when it is processed like most other foods. Do more research on this topic before over indulging in this product. It is reported that this product is an issue in girls at an early age. Best to be safe than sorry. My daughter had issues with soy milk.
3 :
It's not a by-product!!! Soybean oil is the product..made from soybeans. Pure natural stuff. What they do after that who knows?
4 :
Soya is another word for soy, most commonly used by the British. The soybean is a leguminous plant (Glycine max) native to Asia and now grown much more widely. I don't know how you can confuse a bean with a byproduct. It is a bean

"Raw food" - is it ok to give my cat raw turkey from the health food store

"Raw food" - is it ok to give my cat raw turkey from the health food store?

If you like excessive cat poopy all up in yo crib, then yes feed them raw turkey.
2 :
I DUNNO, I THINK ITS OK... OR MAYBE YOU SHOULD PUT IT IN THE MICROWAVE FOR A LITTLE BIT=] GOOD LUCK=]
3 :
Raw turkey is fine, as long as there are no bones in it; a breeder I know feeds a combination of ground turkey and chopped liver, fortified with vitamins, to her show cats, and they are absolutely beautiful!
4 :
Raw food is controversial. Read this webpage to learn the pros and cons: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raw_feeding
5 :
Raw meat should be either organic, or just anti-biotic free. It's fine as a snack, but if you plan to completely switch to a raw meat diet, you'll want to do some research. You need to ensure that your cat is getting all the nutrients it needs - likely you'll want to either add bone and organs OR investigate a supplement that provides what the bones and organs do. Good for you!
6 :
It's great. I use raw ground turkey for my home-prepared diet for my cats and it has a supplement powder which has calcium. Chunks of turkey are even better if your cat will chew on them as they are great for dental hygiene The caveat here is that the meat alone is very high in phosphorus and you must have a calcium source to have the proper balance for the cat. Turkey bones are too tough for a cat to deal with (maybe not in well-chopped up wings or a turkey neck - the liver and heart would be great too if you can get the butcher to save it for you). Raw chicken or Cornish Game Hen are easily chopped up bone and all and you usually get some heart and liver with that. So those are better sources for a "balanced" meal than the turkey. If your cat likes the raw turkey meat you are half-way there to having an excellent home-prepared diet for your cat. The Yahoo group WholeCatHeath is a great resource for what must go into a complete raw diet for a cat. Sandy Arora 's "Whole Health for Happy Cats" has great recipes and shows you how to prepare a raw diet. The book is available through Amazon for $12.

It probably would, as long as you get some vegetables in with it, and maybe heat up the pet food so you don't get any bacteria in you. Cat and dog food is meant for carnivorous creatures. So its very high in Iron and B12, just make sure you get your other food groups in wwith it, too

the food shouldn't cause health problems as dogs, cats, and humans all need the same minerals and vitamins. But we need them all in different amounts so it is not balanced for Humans. Just check the ingrediants first. But i dont recommend because they usually taste like crap.
2 :
The simple answer is no. Dogs and cats are primarily carnivores, so a well-balanced meal for them should not include nearly as much vegetation as a well-balanced meal for a human would. On top of that, there are so many different qualities of dog and cat food, and many of the lower-quality brands are mostly made out of corn and have very little real meat in them. A person probably could live off of dog or cat food, but they would not be very healthy.
3 :
It is not harmful in small amounts, but just as you said, it's made for the animal that is on the bag. It will not provide people with proper nutrition and will make a person sick if eaten long enough. I would advise against eating it at all.
4 :
It is not balanced to human requirements, but you could eat it and get most needed proteins and such However, eating it a few times would not cause any health problems. There are a few foods out there, however, that a human could eat on a daily basis (i.e. Blue Buffalo, By Nature) and subsist on.
5 :
Pet foods are designed to be balanced nutrition for dogs and cats, not humans. If you want to find out what they taste like give it a shot, there isn't anything in them that you can't eat. However, there isn't anything in pet foods that you would normally want to eat, these foods are made from stuff like intestines and lungs that people normally avoid.
6 :
Old people eat it, but not as a sole sustenance. Dogs and cats don't require the same percentage of vitamins and other things we need and also their bodies synthesize some of these vitamins. So we could probably survive for quite awhile, but eventually scurvy and other problems would set in

Shaggy eats scooby snacks all the time. How else do you think he keeps his energy up? They go crazy over those things.
2 :
definitely not. lol domestic pets need different nutrition then primates. (that's us) :] some of those foods aren't even healthy for cats and dogs...
3 :
There are human grade ingredients and animal grade. There are higher standards for the processing of people food, than animal food believe it or not. Be careful.
4 :
Nope--it will NOT give a person(or a dog/cat)a well balanced diet. In fact, there are additives in dog food that are not suited for human consumptions, then look through the list of chemicals in dog food--yuk....I have a dog and believe me, my dog will NOT get dog food....my dog is healthy and does not need flea/tick treatment---if this dog/cat food is so good for them, then why do those animals get so many illnesses? I don't see any wild animals soffer from allergies or flea infestion, worms and other diseases because they don't eat this cooked dog food---like I said: YUK--I wouldn't even feed my dog dog food--not the dry one or the one in the can

what are the health risks of fast food joints

1 :
See the documentary Supersize Me. The health risk is in the high fat content. Fat is 9 calories/ gram vs. 4 for carbs and protien. More fat means more flavor and flavor sells. So you run the risk of chunking up and burdening your heart.
2 :
fat content of the burgers there (and the fries too). did you know burger king has a 2500 calorie breakfast sub?
3 :
They are just no good for you. Loaded with junk, that's what happen to your body.
4 :
Definately rent the video "Supersize Me" It will answer ALL your questions

In burger places, you could always order grilled chicken instead of fried chicken, like on salads or chicken sandwiches. Those chicken wraps, like at KFC and McDonalds, you can order grilled chicken there too. The wraps don't have that many calories (except for the sauce) but you can always tell them to leave the sauce. Healthy drinks like Sobi and waters can be found in sandwich shops like Subway or Quizno's. In N' Out don't use fatty oil to fry their frys. They use some kind, I forget though...And that's why they don't taste that great. Hope I helped. ~Just Keepin it reall :D
2 :
Food cooked in less fat, less sodium.....grilled chicken for example........serving sizes correct to portion sizes so people do not overeat....less fried foods, healthy choices...fruit and veggies for side choices.....no soda, water .... green tea,
3 :
Chili and a baked potato.
4 :
El Pollo Loco Subway Greek
5 :
The charity box up front near the cash register. Stick your coins in. Help out a needy USA citizen. WATER!!!!!
6 :
A rough and rugged man from Texas, who would roundhouse kick you in the mouth everytime you open it to eat this fast food junk. He would work based on commission, and get paid for every time he successfully roundhouse kicks the next obese person into better shape.
7 :
taco bell chicken soft taco, wendys chili (its on wieght watchers) subways turkey subs (no cheese or mayo)
8 :
I agree with the baked potato and chili. They are both low in fat. Also the fruit and yogurt parfait at mcdonalds is low in fat, but I heard that it has a lot of sugar. Stay away from hamburgers, sausage and bacon. Mcdonalds also offers just plain bagels, biscuits and mcmuffins, that you can put jelly or cream cheese on for a quick healthy breakfast.
9 :
I'm the mother of a four year old and I treat him to McDonalds every so often. Fortunately he likes the apples w/low fat caramel dip rather than the fries. I however I like the fries. Anyway...think kids meals. They are actually about the portion size that us adults "should" be eating. I usually go for a hamburger, small fries and a diet coke. It's not actually as bad as you may think. I also like the dollar menu's Big n' Tasty w/out mayo. Of course you can always go the grilled chicken route, but watch out for things like mayo, cheese and bacon. I like McD's snack wraps too. At Taco Bell I like thier fresco menu. Lovin' the new flatbread sammies at Quizno's, but watch out for some of them. Only two of them have 300 calories or less. Subway....a little over rated on the health aspect, but still there is good choices and it's not a salad. Little Ceasers $5 pizza actually isn't as bad for you as I would have thought.
