health food stores in cincinnati? how are they?
have you shopped at: susan's natural world sunshine fine foods whole foods market or clifton natural foods? i just moved to kentucky and was looking for a good health food store. i searched KY but all i found were GNC stores :P i dont want diet pills, vitamin pills, or calcium and iron pills. i want to find a good health food store that sells vegitarian foods like tofu or turkey burgers, or vegan cookies, or oat bread, etc. the natural, organic, healthy stuf! =) im also hooping for veggies and fruits to be sold there. anyway, if you've been shopped at any of those places or know a good one near cincinnati please let me know how you liked it and what they sell there. its a but far from where i am and i dont want to go there and find out it sucks haha! thanks for the help!

I like Clifton Natural foods. You should also try Jungle Jim's-it's is not a natural foods store but has a huge Organic section and is a great foodie experience. You should also join the Cincinnati locavore group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CinciLocavore/ There are big listings of farms, farmers markets, CSA, health food stores, restaurants, etc., for your area

where can I find FREE health food recipes online

where can I find FREE health food recipes online?

go to www.foodnetwork.com. They have a ton of recipes there from a wide category of chefs such as Bobby Flay and Jose Garces
2 :
Here is one of there recipes. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Poached Eggs Over Spinach and Mushrooms 2 Spinach and mushrooms make a great combination. Using frozen spinach makes this a quick-and-easy combination to enjoy both at breakfast and dinner. Poached Eggs Over Spinach and Mushrooms 2 Prep and Cook Time: 10 minutes Ingredients: * 1 package frozen spinach (or use fresh spinach and follow instructions for 1-Minute Spinach) * ½ lb crimini mushrooms, sliced * 3 TBS low-sodium chicken or vegetable broth * 1 tsp lemon juice * 1 medium fresh garlic, pressed * 1 TBS extra virgin olive oil * 2 eggs, preferably organic, poached * salt and cracked black pepper to taste Directions: 1. Thaw spinach or place in boiling water until thawed. 2. Drain and press out excess water from spinach. 3. Heat 3 TBS broth over medium heat in a stainless steel skillet. 4. When broth begins to steam, add sliced mushrooms and sauté for 4 minutes. Add spinach and sauté for 3 more minutes. 5. Transfer to a bowl. For more flavor, toss crimini mushrooms and spinach with the remaining ingredients while they are still hot. 6. When water comes to a high simmer, poach eggs for about 5 minutes, or until whites are firm. Remove from water with a slotted spoon and place over spinach and mushroom mixture. Serves 2 Healthy Cooking Tips: Make sure you do not add any salt to the poaching water for the eggs. The salt has a tendency to dissolve the egg whites. By making sure there is enough water in the poaching pan to cover eggs, you avoid the eggs sticking to the bottom of the pan. You want the eggs to float while they cook. This also avoids breaking the eggs when you remove them with the slotted spoon. It is also important that the water is at a steady simmer and not boiling. You may want to lay the spoon with the egg on a towel briefly after removing egg from water. This allows the towel to absorb some of the poaching water so that the flavor of the mushroom and spinach mixture won't be diluted. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://www.whfoods.com/

KFC is still a very unhealthy restaurant...even if they took out the trans fat.
2 :
It is about as far away from health food as you can get! Still!
3 :
no its junk food lol @ u
4 :
It's by no means health food. Anything fried is jammed packed with calories and fat.
5 :
No, it is not health food. It is still high in fat and calories and low in vitamins/minerals.
6 :
Who said they got rid of trans fat oil? Saying and doing are two very different things
7 :
No it is not healthy food unless you order everthing skinless and eat mostly white meat pieces.
8 :
kfc is still one of the worst foods you can eat. visit www.peta.org for more info on the garbage they call food.
9 :
HELLSS NO!!!!!! You can still continue to clog your arteries and add inches to your waistline just like before you big fat SOW!!!!!!!! Maybe just to ensure your obesity you should choke down a cheescake or two after your kentucky mutated genetically engineered eight headed chicken meal PIG.
10 :
Hello....there's still a percentage of trans fat in oil...and no, sorry KFC is not health food, actually FEW restaurauts offer healthy food...why doesn't any one home cook their meals anymore?...if that were to happen , we'd be a lot of more healthy and less obese people. If you truly want to eat healthy, lose weight, or maintain a healthy weight DO NOT EAT anything that tastes good, is sweet, or fried. You'll live a full lifetime...but it will seem like ten

Yes in excess they have been know to cause some certain types of cancers. You might want to be careful about how often you eat burnt food.
7 :
Yes. It has carcinigens (sic) in it that can cause cancer. In fact, you should eat your steak medium.
8 :
Burnt food is bad for your health Source: Daily Telegraph Date: 26 February 2003 Roger Highfield describes how eating roasted, grilled or barbecued food can be detrimental to health. Barbecuing or grilling food can produce small quantities of compounds called heterocyclic amines, which can cause cancer in animals. Acrylamide is also produced by certain cooking methods, and is classified as a carcinogenic substance. Some scientists are investigating the effects of advanced glycation end products (AGEs), the toxic byproducts of spontaneous interactions of sugars, fats and proteins. Food cooked at very high temperatures has been found to contain higher levels of AGEs than food that has been boiled or stewed.
9 :
Actually carbon in small amounts id good for you.

20 :
I heard its bad for you. But burnt food is soooooooooo good. Mmmm burnt food. I love it. People always think its weird when I eat it.
21 :
Also not healthy is letting your cooking oils reach their smoke-point. The oil changes and is really bad for you. Don't overheat and smoke your cooking oils! Different oils have different temparture tolerances. For example olive oil shouldn't be used for high heat sauteing.
22 :
Burnt food may produce carcinogens and has been linked to cancer in studies. But everything is linked to cancer. Eat in moderation. http://www.thetampapodiatrist.com
23 :
lets just say it doesnt taste good so figure it out
