Erm. There are many many types of already available healthy foods a person can choose to eat. There is only type of gasoline a person can put into his/her car and industry can use to make plastic and heat my house. Oil, unlike food, is also non-renewable. Poor analogy. And I'm sure you know McDonald's in fact does run advertising promotions for people to exercise and eat healthier - they have health-food items on their menu. Oil companies do not have a single (non-stupid) alternative on their menu - and I unfortunately put ethanol under the "oil companies' pathetic attempt at pretending like they're doing something to solve the problem" tab.

Because the Government is not responsible for someone's inability to take care of themselves or their family...maybe finishing High School would have helped...the Constitution is explicit where it says the Government will provide for Defense, but not someone's Big Mac at McDonald's...why didn't Clinton fix it in his 8 years? More people were without Healthcare during the late 90's than now...back when the Constitution was written, if a person could not provide for themselves and did not have family to help them, they died...hence Darwin theory in action...only the strong survive...

My folks tell me often that junk food and instant noodles are carcinogenic in large quantities and cause cancer. But yet many university students take them when having snacks.

Umm.. well stuff liek that is bad for your health yes.. Is it cancer causing, I don't know, most likely, EVERYTHING causes cancer now a days.

Well your folks are right. The reason is because those kinds of food are not organic but rather, they are processed which means many of the nutrients and helpful vitamins are replaced with trans-fats and harmful levels of sodium. Our bodies need natural foods that build our bodies up, but those food tear them down. When we don't get the natural vitamins such as A, K, C, etc. Our body will begin to destroy itself and surcome to the diseases and germs in the air. Its best to stay away from those foods, but if you eat them, eat them sparingly or you can go for healthy alternatives where the foods taste thes same, but still have all of the nutrients you need..

well now-a-days everything causes cancer.. lol. but junk food is just not great for you in general. it has tons of fats and sugar, which can lead to health problems down the road. i am 21 and i am assuming your also young too and i think the problem with our age group is we dont see those "down the road" problems. like the high blood pressure and the bad cholesterol and all that "old people stuff".

Our bodies are designed to fight off nearly all diseases when it is treated right. Eating junk food is not treating it right. Does the junk food cause cancer? Probably not. But your body can't effectively deal with cancer when you feed it junk food.

The same as I do now...whatever I feel like. I'm one of few blessed with a fast metabolism, so my diet doesn't have much influence on my weight. ...and no, I won't eat cake/ chocolate for breakfast...I consider it the same as alcohol...if you have any before 11am you're an addict. Health Food and Heaven...?
An 85 year old couple, having been married almost 60 years, died in a car crash. They had been in good health the last ten years, mainly due to her interest in "health food." When they reached the pearly gates, St. Peter took them to their mansion which was decked out with a beautiful kitchen, and master bath suite, complete with a Jacuzzi. As they "Ooed and Aahed" the old man asked Peter how much all this was going to cost. "It's free," Peter replied, "this is Heaven." Next they went out back to survey the championship golf course on the back side of the house. They would have golfing privileges everyday and each week the course changed to a new one representing the great golf courses on Earth. The old man asked "what are the green fees?" Peter's reply, "This is heaven, you play for free." Next they went to the club house and saw the very lavish buffet lunch with all the cuisine's of the world laid out. "How much to eat?" asked the old man. "Don't you understand yet? This is heaven, it is FREE!" Peter replied with some exasperation. "Well, where are the low fat and low cholesterol tables?" the old man asked timidly. Peter said, "That's the best part... you can eat as much as you like of whatever you like and you never get fat and you never get sick. This is heaven!" With that the old man went into a fit of anger, throwing down his hat and stomping on it, and shrieking wildly. Peter and his wife both tried to calm him down, asking him what was wrong. The old man looked at his wife and said, "This is all your fault. If it weren't for your health food, I could have been here ten years ago!"

Does adult cat food eaten by a kitten have any major ramifications for the kittens overall health?
We have a 20 month and a 5 month old cat living together, so we need to watch when they're eating their wet food together, because the the kitten will try and eat the adults food, which we stop. I'm mainly asking because a friend who also has had cats for years, from kittens, has only ever fed them adult food and they've grown up fine.

As long as it doesn't make up most of his diet overall, he's fine. Adult food just has less nutrients that are necessary for healthy growth and development of young kittens. As long as the majority of his diet is made up of the kitten food, he's fine.

I foster kittens for a local shelter that relies on donations of food to feed the kittens. GENERALLY the kitten food has higher protein, but not by much. Look at the analysis on the back of the box or can. Since cats are obligate carnivores, the kitten foods that have higher protein content are actually better foods for both your kitten and cat. Feeding a canned food which is higher in protein and lower in carbohydrates then any dry food would be a better option. As Dr. Pierson likes to say, there are no such thing as "kitten mice" in the wild. Not that I know of. Campbell's soups are actually sealed in the can and then cooked to like, a billion degrees so the soup is cooked and sterilized inside the can. They showed it on one of those "How It's Made" kind of TV shows
