Besides obesity, what are health risks when eating fast food?
I eat a lot of burger king, taco bell, mcdonalds, just about everything, at least every other day, no joke, i shoudl have made supersize me lol, i eat a lot, and im getting fat, prolly gained over 15 pounds in 4 months. What other health risks are there? besides gaining weight?

well trans fats for one. loads of salt intake, uhh grease in general. all bad. this can lead to heart problems later in life. and the drinks. lots and lots of sugar not good. this can all lead to type 2 dieabites.

Obesity itself increases your risks of heart problems,high cholesterol,diabetes,and so many other stuff.Its really a domino effect that slowly destroys your body. Eating fast food doesn't have to banish from your diet,you can eat it once in a while,but every day will get you very over weight,and cause health problems.Once you taste good nutritious food you will never want to go back the the fake,processed junk again

Just kidding I don't go to Walmarts...but... I am going to a health food store and any major chain store around. What are some items I should pick up to deep condition my hair? Name anything legitimate you can think of... I don't have a budget... And I don't want to use something like...Pantene...yuck. Thanks loves.

the best stuff to use is pure jojoba shampoo which is really healthy for your hair. so is pure lavender which smells amazing too. i think you can get aloe vera in shampoo form. aloe and jojoba is the best for your hair. hope this helps! รข™¥

I suggest Sunsilk it smells goood and it makes you hair shiny, soft, and silky :D I use and I get a lot of compliments :P

Well, this isn't about conditioning but about washing. You should get a shampoo WITHOUT sodium laureth sulfate. It is really bad for your hair. I use a line called Aveda. It is kinda expensive but its really good for your hair and it smells really good. Hope this info helps

 Does anyone feel the food corporations are responsible for obesity and ill health in America?
In other countries their government's wouldn't allow the garbage that is put into our food. All the sugar, trans fat, preservatives. I believe it's because so may companies here are owned by Jews and because they control our government they will do whatever it takes to make a profit. People have to quit buying anything in the grocery store except fresh fruit, vegetables, canned fruit and veggies, frozen fruit and veggies and don't buy any dairy and don't buy any fod that are processed. Stay away from hotdogs, red meat, cheese, and pizza like the plague. If you don't think Jews have anything to do with it, then you research and see how may compnaies are owned by Jews and how many pharmaceutical companies are owned by Jews. Sooner or later if you keep hearing that Jews have done this and they have done that you have to wake up. Many of you will wake up after you get out of school and have business dealings with Jews. I have met many people who woke up real fast after they put together the fact they heqard bad things aout them and then the Jew has them bent over and giving them the shaft. The fact is all national restaurant chains and fast food companies put stuff in there to make you eat more. They use MSG to make you crave the food. The government should do something aout this, but they already know about it.

Who has filled your head with such nonsense? America's obesity problem has nothing to do with religion or government, nor is it the place of government to intervene. Personal freedom comes with personal responsibility. Adults are responsible for their own behavior and health related choices. The blame for failure to make good health choices does not fall on the shoulders of the American government. It falls squarely on individual citizens.

I think that we have to go back to the old days of farms, they had the best food around. We live in a fast food world and we have to change our way of thinking and planning. Because it is so easy to pick something up on the run doen't mean we are not eating right. we can have some things at fast foods now that they are changing their menu. we have to educate ourselve with the menus and learn how to enjoy what we order. One thing i think all these places need is to grill meat, chicken rather than fry it. Red meat isn't good for us but once in a while it doesn't hurt. Fish and chicken and legumes are good for you but you have to know how to make it taste good for those who are on the go. for lunch a nice salad is good with grilled chicken breast sliced on it with a whole grain roll and diet soda or hot drink. but the one thing i have expierenced is that cold food will not keep the hunger down. we have to learn that hot food is better for you and it will keep the stomach satisfied. for lunch i have a ceasars salad with low fat shredded cheese on it and I put it in the micro wave to melt the cheese and it is so good because you get the flavors blending through out the salad. cooked food has a lot of good flavor. we have to check the frozen section for veggies if fresh ones don't meet the pocket book as you can get frozen veggies cheaper then fresh. but if you have to get fresh first and then frozen next and if you have to resort to can check for low salt veggies. Dairy products are good for you. but learn which ones to use and make it low fat, light and you need calcum for the body. I buy egg beater in a carton if i need eggs for anything. I get the ones that have no fat and even egg whites are good for you. Margine or oleo you can get low fat that have the good fat that we need and have the bad fat removed. You have to look a labels and see what it is that you need. Learn how to use it in your daily lives. just because it is low fat doesn't mean you over do it. Cheese is very good for bones but you have to watch it. Learn which cheese to buy. ask your doctor or a store dietition what you can buy that not only taste good but can be good for you. We have to learn to read first and if your not sure than ask a perfessional what is better. it will take trial and error when shopping and when you find it mark it down on paper what it is or save the label till it becomes part of your memory. another thing Breads. think about this. Have you ever had a sandwhich with white or whole wheat bread, finish it and still feel hungry. yup it has happened to me. today we have bakeries in stores and they can make the healthiest bread going. the secret to bread is that you go with homebaked bread from the bakery. Dark bread is not always good for you but it is the grains and how dense the grain that is good for you. 7 grain or 12 grain is probably the best for you. reason being is that when you eat it the carbs that are in it takes longer for the body to absorb it. So by the time the body says ooh carbs lets get it the carbs have passed from the upper GI to the Lower GI and your body only absorbs what it needs or less. These grains are hi in fibre an are very very good for you. they clean the bowl as well. As far as the question is concerned there is an old saying. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink. If you feel these places are tempting go to a restraunt that serves you and get a good meal done up. They are understanding to peoples needs. Another thing take care of your body as no one else is going to. Take time for yourself and don't put presure on your self to rush and you can stay away from these corporations. when we stay from there we put them out of business. should they be responsible, no, who is the one that goes in there, you. stay out of those places.like I said you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink. you can go to the door of these places but who is pushing you in and who is stopping you. you make that choise. you don't see people at the doors of MacDonalds pulling people off the road telling them that they have to eat there. Go to a healthy place to eat or go to the market and see what they have that would be better for you and to be honest take your lunch with you would be the first and formost of choices. think before you leave home. educate you and your family so that they will not go and be a victom of their own bodies. So food corporations should not be held responsible, the person who buys the food is responsible for what he or she eats. If we stop buying these foods they will slowly take them off the market and fast foods will slowly go out of business if they don't change their ways of menus. We as consumers have to complain to these companies not support them. that is how we become responsible people in society. They are doing good in the schools that is the first step in showing food corporations how we as consumers want things done. We are the spokes people. Take the bull by the horns and do something about these food corporations and we will see how much more we can get things done. write or email these places and tell them to how things could be better for us all if they had more of a variety of good things rather than things that are not good. you as people and parents plan your meals and get the family involved in preparing them and it doesn't have to be on persons responsiblity to do it all. take your kids while they are young and show them how to shop, show them why this food is good for you and they will inturn do the same for them selves. you would be surpise how much money one saves when you buy fresh or frozen. sorry I went off the question lol i do go off a bit. Personal Responsibility will keep you eating healthy. The government has the responsibility of Inspecting our food supply and ensuring a safe supply. They require food companies to accurately label the food ingredients and additives used. They have evaluated the additives for safety and require limits where applicable. THE US FOOD SUPPLY IS THE SAFEST IN THE WORLD. If you don't like what is on the label- don't buy the product. Food companies are in business to make a profit, and are naturally good stewards of providing safe food, that people WILL Purchase, not avoid like the plague. American food companies should also be commended for the efforts in recent years to provide more natural, healthy, organic, foods, but you know what, they're just responding to their customers. PS: Possibly the Muslim terrorists invented trans fats as a attack on Americans. But we are fighting back, by eliminating them one city at a time:)

Wow, someone sure has some opinions. Is this really a question??? To answer what I thought was the question I would have to say that the world would be a better place if some of these food corporations would step up and try to make their product healthier. I don't believe that it is their full responsibility, however. People have to want to eat healthy. I agree with what I think you are saying in the sense that if people continue to buy this junk food than we are essentially saying that it is okay for these corporations to feed it to us. The new craze that you see everywhere now is "Now with 0 grams Trans FAT" and everything seems to taste the same to me, so why didn't they do this a long time ago??? The other problem is that you can't live off fresh fruit and vegetables alone. You just can't. Someone needs to take the responsibility of providing more healthy options (that don't cost double the price of the saturated fat versions), and Americans need to take the initiative to care more about what they are putting into their bodies and choose the healthier choice.

I need ideas for a diet that is healthy, fun, creative, and doesnt taste like I'm eating grass and dirt, and my family will like... that wont take a lot of cooking. I need ideas for hubbies lunch too.. No recipes please! (unless they're links) I get so confused honestly I skip over them... :-S

I made this for dinner the other night. It went over well. Veggie Wrap-not a recipe lust a list of stuff that went in. seasoned black beans avacado with lime juice and salt home made ranch salsa diced tomatoes sliced olives almond cheese-peppers jack red onions lettuce

healthy lasagna . just use lean meat and lean cheese and skim milk. you can freeze it and heat it up for other days. or you can make spaghetti with lean meat and diced tomatoes and pepper.(tomato paste to thicken) good luck try making omlettes for lunches they are healthy and taste really good with a bit of pepper and cheese. :D

use your grill and grill veggies. Eggplant, squash, zucchini, tomatoes, mushrooms, asparagus...they're all great on the grill. Rub with olive oil, season to taste and grill. Eating healthy is not hard. Start by incorporating fruits and vegetables into your diet. examples... carrots - eat raw with low-fat ranch dip, peel and put into dressing. many grocery stores have carrot and ranch pack that are good for lunches. apples - pack with cheese(cheddar...etc), peanut butter(without hydrogenated oils). mushrooms - these are very taste and currently in season. You can serve them as cooked side dishes or incorporate into sauces or even burger patties. Buckwheat/egg/mushroom burger patties are good for breakfast lunch and dinner. avocados - these take moments to prepare and can be put in sandwiches or dashes with salt and pepper eaten out of its skin. I suggest browser the internet for recipes. I have gotten my family to eat healthy by simply getting not buying cookies, sugar treats, candy. I also look at products ingredients, the more, the worst. Try completely avoiding hydrogenated oils. The best way to eat healthy is to plan. Plan a dinner night, were you make dinner from scratch. Also, make meals ahead of time. Cooking, then Freezing meals is perfectly fine. Make a night devoted to 1-2 hours of cooking ahead. Find and bread machine. These take 5 minutes to put ingredients together and hours later you have wonderful, healthy homemade bread.

South Beach books, and go to phase 2 of the diet. They also have recipes in them. I live on phase 2 of this food plan and have for past 12 years. It is great!! With increasing amounts of insulin, I am not gaining any weight!! So you ought to be able to lose some if you do some walking after dinner every day

why my 12 week yorkie poo puppy is not eating her food? she has good health according to the vet.?
she eats other treats like peanut butter,chewable bones...etc.but she does not eat her food.she drinks water.is there anything wrong with the food? we feed her purina pro canned food.should i change the food? please tell me.

hold off on the treats.. she will eat her food when she gets hungry. dont fill her up on unhealthy treats..

maybe she knows that if she doesn't eat the food she'll get to eat the treats.... same as children! why eat the healthy stuff if i can eat the sweets!

Stop feeding her crap and maybe she will eat her meal, if not take it away and bring it back out later on, she will give in first.

pets don't like canned food, also, it is very unhealthy for them. i'd ask your vet to see what she can eat. i also think that you can buy dried food, soak it in water, and it sort of has to cover the dry food,and after a long while, not really long,though, you mix it with a spoon. it has to get creamy, not really, but creamy, and then feed to your dog, if it can't have dry food. and don't feed her treats, until she eats her food. hope this helps!

Purina is not a good food. If you want her to eat her dinner, quit giving her peanut butter chewable bones.. You fill her up with garbage, she'll never eat her dinner.. Feed her a good quality dry food. Poor puppy doesn't have a chance to develop good teeth being fed canned food.

yorkie poo puppy eh pfff lol, uh basically stop feeding her treats. She probably has learnt that sh will receive more treats when she refuses to eat her healthy food. Don't spoil her so much...

My yorkie will hold off eating his food until he *knows* he wont be getting a treat for doing something. But I'm a bit of a dog treat snob. My yorkies treats are just as healthy as his food. But I would recommend changing your pup's food to something (ANYTHING) else. Purina is complete crap and the canned food will mess her teeth up. Dry food us much better for her teeth. My yorkie is fed Wellness Super 5 mix. It's FAR healthier than purina. You are what you eat... and so if your yorkie mix. There have been studies that suggest that we are cutting the lifespans of our pets in half by the poor foods we feed them. Here's the thing: Your body always has the same number of fat cells, no matter if you're skinny or overweight. The difference is the size of the fat cells. When you eat junk food or even a lot of food, and injest more calories then you burn off, the excess calories collect in your fat cells, causing them to expand. This is what causes a person to gain weight. Yes, it is true that an overweight person who loses weight is more prone to gain weight back than a person who has never been overweight. This is because once the fat cells have expanded, they lose some of their elasticity, and much more easily expand. It takes more for a skinny person to gain weight than a skinny person who was formerly overweight
