If Health Care is a right are food, clothing, and shelter rights too

If Health Care is a right are food, clothing, and shelter rights too?
Shouldn't the government guarantee that I will always have groceries, decent clothes and a place to live even if I choose not to work? After all what good is health care if I starve to death?

1 :
Yes, they will guarantee that you have groceries and clothing by making it mandatory for you to purchase them with your own money. If you fail to do so, then you will face fines and imprisonment.
2 :
The Libs would say yes to that.
3 :
It may be more of an issue of survival- food and other amenities are routinely thrown away. Health care for the middle class, however requires that one bankrupt themselves first before receiving public aid which is available to any homeless person- do you get it now? Or is this fine point still beyond understanding?
4 :
That's what Section 8 and Food Stamps are for. I'm waiting for the clothing allowances.
5 :
Are you suggesting we should let people starve to death? Have you no empathy?
6 :
they are called foodstamps, your taxes pay for them, feel better? neither do i
7 :
There are already government programs to cover those basic necessities. NEXT!
8 :
They do not provide a quality of life, they provide only enough to keep you alive. Affordable clothing available under the government option, is not quality enough to land a decent paying job to work your way out of poverty. Get in a bread line.
9 :
our entire lives are soon to be entitlements. we simply turn all our income over to the government and they make our lives better. i'm tingling with excitement...or is that excrement. the real answer is that the government shouldn't guarantee anything personal...it's up to the individual to get those things. other than roads, schools, security, etc..., the gov't needs to let the people dictate their own lives.
10 :
No. But what's wrong with hoping that the country will be rich enough one day to offer those things as rights? It seems that for you the matter is not one of affordability but of jealousy. You are so afraid that some Black or Hispanic (illegal?) will get free housing one day that you would rather not even think about it.
11 :
Yes those are rights too and indeed all people should have access to essential resources which cannot happen under a global profit system
12 :
Food is just about a right what with the WIC program, food stamps and other social programs. Clothing can be gotten cheap from the Salvation Army stores or Good Will. There are government funded homeless shelters in many large cities where homelessness is common. So yeah...
13 :
Our politicians are so out of touch with the reality of life that their decision making capabilities have completely disappeared. The decisions our government is making have nothing to do with the betterment of the American taxpayer and everything to do with government control, power grabbing by certain individuals and the intent to destroy America and our economy. It is clear, Obama does not like the Constitution - he thinks it’s a document of “negative liberties” telling the government only what it can’t do rather than spelling out what the government “should” do for you. So is it any surprise that this man has the policies, philosophies and friends that he does. o_O

You have to dig deep down and just stop eating the bad foods. I am Certified Master Pastry Chef who had to stop eating sweets..........talk about hard.....lol. But I did it and still dont eat sweets anymore.
2 :
Not really, but the best way to stop eating certain foods is to get really good at understanding and perparing the "other" foods. You don't say what the "health" reasons are though, so hard to say if they are things you can just eat less of, or are truly intolerant or allergic to your body (even then there's some leeway), or are just not advisable like junk food, etc.
3 :
Once when I was really hungover in college I kept vomiting up pink vitamin water, i couldn't drink it for years after that. When I had morning sickness when I was pregnant i kept eating ginger candy and now I cant as i associate it with nausea. So next time you are nauseous eat the food you wanna hate.

Is cooking food on aluminum foil in a toaster over bad for your health

Is cooking food on aluminum foil in a toaster over bad for your health?
I just want to know because people I know do it often and i want to know for example if some metals or something can get into the food like food in plastic in a microwave. Also, the food is directly touching the foil and some of the cheese in it start to melt when it is almost done cooking.

According to William Thies, PhD, vice president for medical and scientific affairs for the Chicago-based Alzheimer's Association: "Current research shows that clearing the cupboards of aluminum products won't protect you from Alzheimer's disease. Researchers have been looking for a connection between aluminum (the third most common element on earth after oxygen and silicon) and Alzheimer's disease for four decades with no conclusive results. For every study that finds a link, another study refutes it or fails to find a link." I wouldn't worry about cooking with aluminum; just don't overdo it

Great idea?? Fast food health food

Great idea?? Fast food health food?
I had this crazy dream last night, my dad went to like a health food fast food joint and brought back like a lettuce burger..it wasn't one of those disgusting veggie burgers, just a bunch of lettuce on a bun. Came wrapped like a big mac.. In my dream, the restaurant had a catchy name, and even the lettuce buger had a cool name... I jumped out of bed and tried to write these things down, but when I woke up..I found that I actually only wrote the names down in my dream??? What the hell...my million dollar idea gone!!!!

wow that sucks i hate when u forget something in ur dream and then u cant remmeber it!! :) arghh
2 :
i think it would be great to have a fast food place that was healthy if the food was good I'm sure it would be very popular don't be discouraged just keep working on it you never know maybe you will be a millionaire.good luck!
3 :
I think Cosi, Panera and Salad Works are all based on healthy quick meals. I think it is a great idea. Go for it. You will just have to continue dreaming while you are awake! Best of luck to you...
4 :
There are healthier fast food places like Subway, Schlotsky's, Chick-Fil-A, etc. The problem is that it is difficult to have healthy food for a cheap price. Healthy veggies are expensive, and if a restaurant wants to stay afloat and serve healthy foods, they will have a hard time. Almost no one can compete with McDonald's Dollar Menu. If you can find a way to make cheap, healthy food... go for it! Get it out there. Talk to your parents (if you are young) and tell them your idea. Who knows? Maybe someone will buy it. But honestly, I wouldn't eat lettuce on a bun. Sounds disgusting.
5 :
Ooooooh! Healthy fastfood! It's a great idea. If you work on it properly, you might be a millionaire! You never know how these things go. But, good luck on that!
6 :
to sustain that helth food fast fud and that million dollar idea- start a veggie garden at ur backyard while looking for other gardeners who can supply ur needs for veggie burger. name could be vegiBun !!!?
7 :
hope u dream it again and remember the idea
8 :
i hate it when i lose my dreams I wouldn't eat the burger with just lettuce on a bun. beef isn't bad just get get the better cuts of beef. I bake the fries instead of deep frying them. Remember HEALTHY DOES NT HAVE TO BE TASTELESS

I need to do a health food survey for my business management class, would anyone be willing to take it

I need to do a health food survey for my business management class, would anyone be willing to take it?
As part of my main assignment for the year I have to survey at least 30 people about health food products. From the survey results I can create a suitable health food product such as a snack bar, some kind of confectionary ect. Any and all participation would be very much appreciated. (At the moment I’m thinking of making some sort of bar or bite containing cherries, walnuts and chocolate. 1.Do you currently eat organic foods? 2.Do you eat any types of health/energy bars? 3.Do you eat any kinds of 4.If so, on average how many times each week would you consume health/energy bars? 5.Would you be okay eating something that contained artificial colours, flavours or preservatives? 6.Do you like berries? 7.Do you like cherries? 8.Have you got any dairy allergies? 9.Do you like chocolate? 10.Have you got any nut related allergies? 11.Do you like any of the following nuts: walnuts, hazelnuts, pistachios or peanuts? 12.If a healthy snack product were made of the highest quality ingredients would you pay more for it than for a cheaply made product? 13.Do you think the packaging should reflect the quality of the product? 14.Would you go to a supermarket to buy small gourmet health food products or would you go to a shop that specialized in such products? For example a boutique chocolate shop, delicatessen ect. 15. Can you suggest any kind of healthy snack bar, "healthy" confectionary ect. That you would be happy to purchase? sorry about question 3, i meant to write "any kinds fruit based health/energy bars?"

8 :
1. Yes. 2. Occasionally. 3. Yes. 4. I usually eat energy bars when I go hiking/mountain climbing, which I do about four to eight times a year, not weekly. Energy bars are far too calorie-dense for casual snack eating. Say .10 times a week. 5. Sure. 6. Yes. 7. Yes. 8. No 9. Yes. 10. No. 11. Yes, all of them. 12. Yes, within reason. I already often pay a dollar for a piece of fruit rather than 33 cents for a donut. 13. I am not sure what this means; we WAY overpack our food in the US. I do not succumb to packaging. I would say my answer is no. 14. "Gourmet health food"? I shop in supermarkets exclusively for food for myself, but might visit a chocolate shop to buy chocolates as a gift. 15. A fresh-baked, non-fat, low sugar oatmeal raisin cookie made with natural sweeteners like stevia. . As you alluded to earlier in your questions, there is also a spot open for a nice, tasty berry cookie.
9 :
1. Do you currently eat organic foods? Yes 2. Do you eat any types of health/energy bars? sometimes but I always try to like them. Do you think the packaging should reflect the quality of the product? the us makes a lot of money with marketing to you people would be lying to you if they told you that it didn't matter, 14. Would you go to a supermarket to buy small gourmet health food products or would you go to a shop that specialized in such products? For example a boutique chocolate shop, delicatessen ect. specialized shop 15. Can you suggest any kind of healthy snack bar, "healthy" confectionary ect. That you would be happy to purchase? My problem is I don't like healthy and many people don't that is why they make protean shakes out of chocolate and vanilla. I love cheese and heavy milk and sugar. When you cook fruits they turn in to sugar so there goes the healthy. Sorry but I love bad food. I am working on it.

Why are 'so called health food' so detrimental to health? What can be done to change this situation

Why are 'so called health food' so detrimental to health? What can be done to change this situation?
In 1975 I chose vegetarianism and later added fish. This was great because I lost weight and my health improved. However, I have found that those who prepare canned soybean and even frozen products that are regarded as 'healthy/healthful' as a choice are either ignorant or greedy. The salt/sodium content of some of them are worse than so called junk food.I know someone who will need to eat a certain low sodium diet after heart surgery. It will be a scary situation if a dietician recommend 'health' food to his parents and they purchase some of these products.People will do what they want because it is their life. Are there any low/ no sodium healthy food i.e. non-meat or even meat? This thirteen year old is not going to stop eating certain foods, especially in a social situation.Any ideas about truly healthy food for a salt restricted heart patient?

Health Food at the Reef Playacar

Health Food at the Reef Playacar?
I am booking a vacation at the Reef Playacar Resort and Spa in Mexico and I was curious if they had any health food areas. I know that a lot of resorts now have an entire section, or at least a decent selection of healthy food to choose from. I'm a vegetarian and I do eat anything high in fat or calories, so it's needless to say that my food choices are pretty limited. Also, I was wondering if am I able to take food in my checked luggage? I want to pack my soy nuggets, veggie burgers, tofu, and salad dressing but I'm not certain if I am allowed. If anyone knows the answer to either of the questions that would be great. Thanks in advance.

I pack food in my bag all the time because I am allergic to Gluten. I can't tell you about the food at the Reef. I personally don't like all inclusives. However, I can tell the beach restoration project just completed on Friday, there are lovely, deep, wide beaches for you to enjoy

You could end up consuming too much saturated fat, cholesterol and sodium. Too much of any of those could cause heart problems, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol levels.
