A question about health food options

A question about health food options?
For 3 years I've skipped lunch each day, which makes my day about 7 hours without eating anything from the moment I get up. Recently I've began to eat yogurt in the morning, but I still don't eat lunch. So I need some help. I need a food for lunch that will fill me up, is portable and does not require refrigeration or heating, is cheap and can be bought in bulk, and is healthy. Does anyone have any good ideas? I have to change my eating habits or I will severely hurt my metabolism.

Bring a sandwich. It can stay out for several hours and will be okay. Bring a tub of peanut butter, and a loaf of bread to work with a knife. Lunch for a week! You can even bring jelly, i don't think it needs to be kept in the fridge. You can also keep carrots, apples, grapes or many other fruits and vegetables at work, they are fine out of the fridge.
2 :
Granola bars, cereal, almonds, walnuts, etc
3 :
You could make a good "trail mix" of sorts. Include a variety of nuts, dried fruit and beef jerky. Fresh fruit is portable, and so are tortilla wraps (wrap some turkey in with some lettuce and mustard). String cheese will last you from the morning until lunch without refrigeration. Hopefully this helps. Kudos on changing your eating habits. You'll see a great change in energy!
4 :
If you were going to "severely hurt your metabolism", wouldn't it be done by now? If you're skipping lunch, then pick something. Sandwich, leftovers from last night, a salad in a Gladware bowl?
5 :
well, if you want to buy something in bulk, filling and give you nutrition: try "protein powder - whey protein " - they come in different flavour. you can add one scoop in about 250 ml of water or fruit juice. Just make sure you drink plenty of fluids as well.
6 :
First of all, you should be eating a big breakfast. If you start your day with a good (somewhat large), healthy meal, you will be much better off for the rest of the day, especially because you'll be eating a quick lunch. Now, as for lunch, a peanutbutter and jelly sandwhich is very healthy IF, and only if, you are using whole wheat bread, natural peanutbutter (Smuckers, not Jiff, for example), as well as natural, healthy jelly. Grab some fruit as well, and you're good to go

A Health Food Diet

A Health Food Diet?
I have made the leap to discontinue myself from eating fast food or any type of un-healthy food (chips, cookies, etc.). I'm already a lean guy, just want to have a chizzled body. Unfortunately, since i have cut these types of food from my diet, i don't know what to eat. Does anyone know any good health food diets, not for losing wieght but for muscle building or healthy eating. Thanks.

Try the slim fast health food diet.
2 :
Lean meats, fresh fruits and vegetables.
3 :
Lean meat, fruits, vegetables and healthy fats (plant oils and fish). If you want a specific diet look at the Body for Life plan by Bill Phillips, it is made for just this sort of thing. See the link below. http://www.bodyforlife.com/
4 :
Just buy a food pyramid. You'll need grain, protien, dairy, fruit, vegatables, and little fat.
5 :
Sounds as if a nutritional supplement would serve you well. I've been on the Cambridge Diet for weight loss for several months now, however, it is also used by many as a strong source of nutrition. 3 servings a day provide you with 100% of your body's daily vitamins, minerals and trace elements. If you had a serving of Cambridge before breakfast, lunch and supper your body would be provided with all of it's daily nutrients. Combine that with an already healthy lifestyle and you've got the makings of great success! Also, it comes in the form of oats, soups or shakes. If you have bad sweet tooth the shakes are delicious, are stimulant and preservative free and make for a great "treat". One cannister of 15 servings is only $22.65

Are there any health supplement that can stop my food cravings

Are there any health supplement that can stop my food cravings?
I see people who inadvertently set themselves up for a huge snack attack mid afternoon and I am one of them. I need to stop this as soon as possible to get back my normal weight and figure.

I know it's hard to find, but ephedra works great for cravings. You can also eat more complex carbs at lunch and for your snack, fruits and veggies with a bit of fiber and protein will keep you feeling full.
2 :
Anything you use over the counter to stop food cravings will set you up in the long run for health problems. It is not in anyone's best interest to do that. Basically all they do is speed your heart rate up to make you more energetic so you don't think about. Try drinking 8oz of water if you get a food craving. That will hold you off until your next meal. Even if you have to drink water all day long. Hopefully this helps.
3 :
Changing your eating habits is the only way this will work for anyone. Supplements are poorly regulated and have shown to have no long term effect. Food addiction is a difficult and complex issue. I know I battle it everyday. Try, at the time of your snack to take an apple or other healthy snack and go for a walk. Or second, prepare a snack (moderate amount) on a plate. Cheese, fruit etc. when you are not hungry. When the snack time hits, take the prepared snack and eat it. When we are hungry it is the worst time to prepare. Cheers,
4 :
Keep a big bottle of water handy all throughout the day. I never used to drink water during the day, and I always used to snack! Now, I vowed to quit snacking, and whenever I feel the urge, I drink some water. This always helps. Sometimes when you think you have a food craving, you are just thirsty for water. You might be bored--taking the drink of water gives you a moment to think, "Am I really hungry or in need of food?" I eat only 3 meals per day and I do not snack. I used to snack ALL THE TIME. To quit, I started to count calories, and stuck to it. Once you realize the value of a calorie, you won't be tempted to mess up your daily caloric count. I also kept that bottle of water, and bought healthy snacks (removed all unhealthy temptations from my house--replaced with fat free yogurt, and veggies and fruits)
5 :
its easier than you think, try the total control and snack defense tablets from herbalife, they will cut all the cravings you have but you can eat your other meals as normal. They also have great healthy snacks for in between meals if you really cant stop yourself ,s o at least you snack healthy. The tablets will definitely work for you though. try myhealthabcmall.com and they are on there, cant remember under which tab they come under but they are easy to find. I get six months supply at one go so I dont have shipping and handling costs each month. good luck

What is Obama cooking up now with the new health food czar

What is Obama cooking up now with the new health food czar?

Health??
2 :
his wife you mean. umm probably trying to take all fast foods away, somehow he will say fast food is detremental to the economy because people are becoming obese and cannot afford the medical payments and will take over the companies and diminish them
3 :
I'm hoping this health food czar is here to replace food stamps with actual food itself so the system can't be abused and that those that are living on the system will be required to not blow it on bad choices. My guess is that this isn't what he is going to do.
4 :
those darn czars! go back to russia where sarah palin can keep an eye on ya!
5 :
Forcing fat America to stop eating grease by the bucket full in order to not overload Obamacare. The bible warned about all this. Get ready.
6 :
Not a thing. He appointed his chef to a new position and the silly right wing propaganda machine attached the "czar" label to him since they think it is fun to do that. It gets their mentally-slow base all worked up and gets them ratings. That is the only thing this silly story is about. The right wing being disingenuous and dishonest -- again!
7 :
Why are you calling obama a czar while at the same time calling him a marxist, seeing as one is far left, and the other is right in the fact they were a monarchy.
8 :
I'm sure that whetever it is, the GOP will say that they oppose it.
9 :
They are taking away my twinkies all due to Obama Care..They should outlaw tabbaco so Obama is breaking the law.
10 :
0bama promises all things to all people. The only fair way to judge him is by the outcome of his actions. So far, judging by the outcome of his actions this is his agenda Spend the USA into bankruptcy Tax the USA into slavery Maintain political power no matter who it hurts. Divide the country into easily intimidated factions. Remove traditional Christian values from government, and replace it with immorality Let Islamic terrorists romp in the ruins. So, going from his agenda we must assume it will: 1) - Increase taxes 2) - cost a fortune, 3) - Blackmail the poor into voting for Democrats. 4) - Give free food to some and make others pay for it with higher grocery prices 6) - Make people now working in fast food establishments lose their jobs. 7) - promote more animosity between the new poor and those who have to pay. 8) - Increase envy, This will all happen under the disguise of making people eat more healthy.
11 :
This is just more government intrusion into our lives. Now that we have government run health care we need a food czar to tell us what we can and cannot eat. This is only the beginning. I like - homeschool's answer
12 :
Quick! Run! Here comes the new fat czar with a tape measure! First, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius has decreed that a new federal database, mandated by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, must include every American's BMI, or Body Mass Index, as part of an all-encompassing EHR, or Electronic Health Record. Vladimir Lenin in his prime couldn't have thought this up, but here we are a century later, in the Land of the Free, not just subjecting ourselves to this encroachment on our individual liberty but cheerfully voting to pay for it. BMI is the relative percentage of fat and muscle mass divided by height, and it is used as an indicator of obesity. Experts dispute its accuracy but, don't tell the federal government, because after 234 years of not giving a hoot, said government now has discovered a compelling and overriding need to add your BMI to its commodious collection of statistics. Don't want it in there? Too bad. Doctors who don't comply will have their Medicare and Medicaid payments cut, which eventually could put them out of business. This is the latest assault on the real right to privacy - What happened to a simpler era when the purpose of government was to protect us from foreign invaders, rather than tell us what to eat and how many inches of our middles Secretary Sebelius has to pinch before we are in trouble. In the other news, the current occupiers of the White House have upgraded the title of their personal cook, Sam Kass, from "food initiative coordinator" to "senior policy adviser for health food initiatives." Ostensibly hired as a nutrition-conscious chef to make the Obama daughters eat their vegetables, Kass is actually a graduate of the University of Chicago with a degree in American history and shares many social acquaintances with the Obamas, including senior adviser Valerie Jarrett and Education Secretary Arne Duncan. "Kass has definitely learned the ways of Washington. He is generally tight-lipped and careful to frame what he says in terms of Obama's vision," Politico.com reports. http://www.politico.com/click/stories/0910/sam_kass_cooks_up_policy.html Kass, who works with Jocelyn Frye, domestic policy adviser to Michelle Obama, doesn't seem exactly sure of what a "senior policy adviser for health food initiatives" is supposed to do to merit that undoubtedly healthy – salary. "It's been a challenge to figure out my position," he admits. Michelle Obama's efforts to insert government between your fork and your mouth will lead to a federal Department of Food someday. Why does an unelected first lady need a "domestic policy adviser," much less a "senior policy adviser for health food initiatives"? Who is this history major/veggie cook from the lefty university, really? Will he stay in the kitchen or soon emerge as our first national fat czar? Why is the Obama administration so intent on obtaining the BMI numbers of millions of Americans, most of whom are independently – or through their private insurance companies – paying their own medical bills? What does it plan to do with this information once it is obtained? So put your database away, Mr. President. If my headache gets bad enough I'll just go to the doctor and it won't be your problem. No, wait – in a single-payer system I won't be able to do that, either. Well, I mean … I'll fill out the applicable forms and ask if I may put my name on a waiting list … if I meet the qualifications. o_O

well if anything with meat isn't healthy unless they drain the fat out, but still meat is fating. for breakfast scrambled eggs are good as long as the egg came from a good healthy chicken but usually they get it from a good chicken they wouldn't sell scrambled eggs from a unhealthy chicken. be sure to get water with the food you can also get another drink with water but take couple sips of water before the meal ( cuz the water goes in the stomach and mixes with the acid in your stomach which is called fatty acid and so your stomach is ready to eat). i hope i helped :D

Buy cheese and bread and fruit and milk and all other fresh stuff for the super markets and and make your own quick delicious stuff at home. Its cheaper than going to a resturant and its quick and healthy. Pack in loads of stuff into your brown bread sandwich or make your own sub in minutes. Yummy. Eating out is a rip off and a waste of cash and time.
2 :
Best source to find any price range and different types of cuisine (restaurants), ger a reveiw of the restaurant and many times even see what the menu & decor look like is www.opentable.com. It totally works we always use this site when we travel & are always amazed how seamlessly it works... good luck and bon apetit

How Does Processed Food Effect our health

How Does Processed Food Effect our health?
What role does corn play in processed food?
Diet & Fitness - 2 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
a lot of processed food has artificial flavoring and additives and it causes stress on the liver to process these artificial and non-natural chemicals. Too much stress on the liver could eventually lead to cancer. I'm not too sure about corn but I believe its pretty hard to digest.
2 :
Well beans are the comedic relief. I think corn has the main role, though
