What would happen if the government would stop Section 8 Housing assistance, food stamps & free health car

What would happen if the government would stop Section 8 Housing assistance, food stamps & free health care?
I think it should be more limited and much harder to get! There are people that have lived through this system their whole lives. I personally think its a big problem with our country!

And your solution is to just cut it off tomorrow and let what happens happen? Or do you have a real solution? It's easy to just complain.

I think it should be easier to get! However, it SHOULD be more regulated and there needs to be more rules. Like no welfare after two years. Not five like it is now. It should be easier to get. Because the people that really need it don't have a way to get it, the ones who are getting it are usually the ones with the resources to abuse the system. We can't make it harder to get because then the liberals will be beating down our doors and have something else to nag us about like never ending wives. We need to help those out who can't help themselfs. However I don't owe anyone a dime who doesn't get off their ass and try to work. NO I don't hand out free cash. You have to work for it in this country. America should help people. NOT BABY PEOPLE! -Connor

I've seen questions and answers on this site hinting that it may be time for a second American Revolution, considering how corrupt and incompetent the government is. If the government ended Section 8, food assistance, and health care, that, my friend, would be the spark that would ignite such a revolution.

Our country needs a safety net in order to help those that are truly in bad situations that they need assistance with. $hi+ happens.. to all of us, and we have a responsibility to our neighbors to make sure they are not left completely out in the cold when it strikes them badly. Our current system, however, just leads to chronic dependence, and needs to be altered drastically. I would propose solutions that were quite effective in the 30's.. bring back the poor farm / work farm. If you are really in trouble.. you can live on the working farm, laboring for your room and board. The conditions are not bad, they are safe, and there are provisions to transition back into mainstream life. No, you can't drink, smoke, or git your drugs here. You can't watch TV 18 hours a day. You can't play with yourself on the 'puter for more hours than you look for a job. You can't sleep in the same bed with someone you're not married to. Unless you are a family, you sleep in a bunkhouse. It's not a vacation, it's not a holiday inn. It's survival in a safe setting until you can get your s#it together. Just giving money & food to people who have proven that they do not possess the skills to take care of themselves, however, is idiotic. It also never ends.. even between generations. I know these situations firsthand.. and the system does not help these people at all. It only helps the industry that is the system.. job security for the social workers. One additional caveat; if the individual is an illegal alien that can't claim asylum? A nice big ham sandwich & a one-way bus ticket back to their home country. Sorry; we have enough of our own to support. If you are in trouble? yes, America will help you.. it's in our blood to do so. But, it will be on our terms.

LImited in what way? There are many people who work hard and do their best and get these subsidations. It's usually people like you who have never received these benefits or needed them that turn their nose up and think they are better than those that get them and in some strange way, envy them. It is a necessity for many and not something they take advantage of. As with anything, there are those who try to abuse the system -- as there is good and evil present in any situation.
