Preservatives are added to food to make them last longer, so they can be transported from where they are grown to the grocery store. Pesticides are also added to food, to increase a farmer's yield. Preservatives and pesticides are usually made from chemicals that can be dangerous to your health. This is one of the reasons you should always wash fruits and vegetables before you eat them Another worry many people have about their foods is genetic modification. Scientists are now able to take parts of genes from some organisms and put them into our food, to make them more resistant to pests, make them survive in colder climates etc. However, many people believe that tampering with the genetic material of any organism is ethically wrong, and genetically modified foods can cause allergic reactions in some people.

All food additives are not harmful. There are many natural food additives and preservatives that are normally good. You can check the list of banned food additive in your country and also check if you are allergic to one or not. If so then never consume a food product having that. Actually if the food additive is taken more than its prescribed limit then it is can cause problem otherwise it is normal.
