Depends on what you select from either of those two cuisines, and how you prepare the food. You can make either as healthy or as unhealthy as you want it to be. Both can be very healthy if you prepare them the authentic way, from fresh produce. Both tastes great! Both cuisine included in your diet can be helpful. Just remember the golden rule, "Everything in moderation. Too much of a good thing, can be bad". = )
5 :
Both have dishes that are generally good for the health. Japanese food is heavy on fish, green leafy vegetables and seafoods. They usually end their meal with hot green tea. Italian food is heavy on tomatoes, olive oil, fresh green leafy vegetables. They usually have red wine as their drink. No wonder that the Japanese and people in the Mediterranean have some of the longest life expectancy rates in the world today.

Both are good if choose dishes wisely, I am Japanese, have Italian friend, we take turns cook, some Italian food harder digest of Japanese food however, some have too much sauce, other Italian food is fine however.

The Italians and the Japanese have been around for a long while! Watch your pasta intake when in Italy and beware of Ajinomoto (it means more flavour) when in Japan - its basically mono sodium glutamate. Otherwise, a little of what you fancy does you good!

I would say Japanese, if you stick to boiled, steamed dishes or grilled seafood, you can maintain a low calories diet very easily. There are quite some Japanese recipes don't put oil on the ingredients while cooking. A typical Japanese meal calls for steamed rice, grilled fish, a cold salad like boiled vegetables served with soy sauce or vinegar dressing and miso soup with tofu and seaweed. (except Tempura or other deep fried food, you hardly can find any dishes is oily)

japanese food
10 :
Japanese food is better only if you're eating Sashimi
