I was the healthiest I've ever been when I was stationed in Korea. I think it has to do with all the veggies you eat.

It's high in fiber, the fermented veggies seem to have positive effects (probiotics, some that haven't been explained), the garlic is antioxidant, it is delicious, the hot peppers are great for you.

Korean food typically contains lots of garlic which is good at staving off sickness. There are stats that say that Korean people eat the most garlic per capita and that they also suffer the least from common illnesses like colds and flus. Not too much Korean food is deep-fried or contains much fat. Most Korean food is well balanced with a good proportion of vegetables, protein and fibre. You just have to watch the salt a little bit
