At the health food store (Whole foods) and people are sampling with their hands when there are tongs there

At the health food store (Whole foods) and people are sampling with their hands when there are tongs there?
What is with people? This one couple comes up and starts taking samples of potato chips, (lots of them) repeatedly with ther bare hands, several times each. They stuff the food into their mouths, then go back for more. Once I asked ' Do you know what those tongs are for?' and they told me I was rude, so, I guess they knew? Why is this going on? The tongs are there and very easy to use.

Of all the people I would NOT want to eat after, most shop at the whole food store.

That is disgusting and its not very good manners either. I hope you didnt eat anything, some of those people dont wash their hands when they use the bathrooms.

you were not rude.some are greedy and of course a hand can grab more than a tong since u say the persons go back for more.i normally will sample cheese cubes that have a tooth pick already on /in them.

Thats why its wise to stay away from the free samples. Even if someone doesnt do it in front of you, you never know who "double dipped" or used thier hands. Its just gross to eat food thats been left out unattended. I never eat that stuff.

It's because of the general public. I recently asked a question on here about girls peeing all over the seat. You should see this. You'll walk into a stall, and there will be pee splattered from the front to the back of the seat. Now obviously these people are concerned about catching germs, but completely fine with spreading it. My conclusion, there is a large portion of the general public that doesn't care about anyone but themselves. It's hard to understand, but it's "all about me", and the heck with everybody else.

YUCK! Especially if you don't know where their hands have been previously. A guy friend of mine who worked at Whole Foods one day told me to not take any free samples there at all. He one time saw a male customer stick his entire head inside the sample bowl, eating the pineapples.
