Vegans what do you usually get from a health food store

Vegans what do you usually get from a health food store?
I was planning on going to a health food store tomorrow and i just do not know what to get. I am against the whole fat thing because i notice that some vegans are overweight so i do not eat peanut butter, butter or veganaise, or anything with loads of saturated fat because it does not make sense to eat healthy and still be fat.. I just wanted to know what can i get that has protein, and other nutrients, high in fiber, low in fat and reasonable I have heard that hummus is good but i have not tried it? I want to make it because i have some garbanzo beans but that's it, what else do i need? What do you usually get from a health food store that you need in your diet, that is healthy please list multiples..thanks

the question is protein tofu is good but you have to season it in 1000 plus ways fried with nutritional yeast and salt is good but the general principles are to get the complete protein peanut butter is good way to get 1/2 of the protein but find recipes that will be complete protein beans + grains grains + nuts or seeds nuts or seeds + beans each represents complete protein make a cashew gravy on rice or the love of most orientals is rice and beans of choice personally i like lentils or Little red beans on rice chilly made with sesame seed sprinkles is wonderful' oat burgers made from cashew gravy or tofu mashed works wonderful but the best start is beans and rice find many ways to get this accomplished and not be the same old boring thing every meal soy milk and granola is complete protein peanut butter and bread but use temperance Of moderation and not abstemiousness on this topic.

WOW! You NEED fats to live! Eat mono, poly and omega fats the GOOD ones for you waist and your heart and avoid the trans and saturated fats, that's why you see fat vegans they eat the bad ones! I just get spirulina and wheat grass when I'm there.

you definitely need some fats as stated before. but you should go for natural butter (peanut butter that hasn't been processed as much, so the oil and peanuts are separated in the jar), instead of the hydrogenated peanut butter ( i.e Jiff). I dump some of the oil out before I mix it, so it has less fat. Beans are awesome, especially black beans and go for the raw nuts too, they have less saturated fat than cooked ones (cooking oils saturates them) whole grains are awesome.. opt for that over white breads and you also need vitamin b12 now that you're not having meat etc I suggest you get the liquid b12 or a vitamin capsule that states it's vegan because some of them use animal based pectin. There are some vegetable/fruit based pectin though :) don't forget TONS of fruits and vegetables too :) good luck!

You will not necessarily get fat by eating peanut butter and veganaise. As others said, your body needs fats to survive! Just eat the mono and poly fats instead of trans and saturated. You'll find the good fats in peanut butter. Hummus is delicious! It's good with vegetables or spread on a wrap. I usually eat a lot of fruits and vegetables from the farmer's market, grains from the farmer's market, beans from the farmer's market.... The only stuff I usually get from the health food store is processed vegan junk food, which I try to eat rarely. Things like vegan ice cream sandwiches
