How will we afford to provide health insurance for everyone in this country, plus food stamps

How will we afford to provide health insurance for everyone in this country, plus food stamps,?
plus assisted housing, plus all the other social programs we already have in place? Are the wealthy and corporations going to be taxed until they are broke? Is this what the left wants? Ed J: why not try to inform me instead of just making a statement assuming I don't know anything about the healthcare issue.

We'll end up like France.

Its all in the plan. Abort the children, euthanize the elderly and those who can not be productive, then you only have a very very small group of people to care for. but that's in the plan as well, Al Queda will take care of the 'middle' class.

We willl become socialists- 50-65% taxes and no incentive to do anything since the govt will pay you not to.

You are really very uninformed about the health care issue. I think it would be a good idea if you do a bit of research first.

I highly DOUBT we will ever be granted health insurance. We already pay WAY to much money so we can let all the illegals live here for practically nothing and receiving medical for FREE and food for FREE all on our taxpaying americans expense!! Imagine how much our taxes will go up if we ALL get health insurance!! Ridiculous!

Taxed until they're broke? How about taxing them at the same rates we did in the 50s. If we did just this, we would garner over a trillion dollars. That would pay for better social services. The US lacks adequate social services. What you need to ask yourself is, If every other First World country has some form of socialized or government-run health care, why can't the richest country in the world? It's absolutely mind-numbing that people can't realize this. The reason why we can't is because this is a business-run society. How is it that we can afford over 500 billion on "defense," and at the same time pay separate bills for TWO wars. Why do we have 10-12 thousand atomic bombs--it's called Military Keynesianism, where the public is robbed year after year to enrich the rich. I say, enough corporate welfare, take the profit out of war, then we can talk about social services.

Hey pile on those taxes, after all the guy who makes 1 million plus a year doesn't really deserve to keep all that money. I bet he doesn't even employ but between 100 and 10,000 people. Chances are he won't let some of them go to make up for his losses, nor will he raise the price of his goods and services, he'll just take it on the chin and cut back on the lifestyle to which he has grown accustomed. But hey that's Fair right? Give me a break. The rich pay more in taxes than most of us make in a year before taxes already. We need to cut back on spending not tax more.

We already pay for it. Who do you think pays the health bills for all the illegals lined up in the ER room at the local hospital? Ha, the people who do have insurance.

taxing the rich just a few percentage more would bring in billions of dollars, and how about sorting out the social programmes so they are fairer, and do not give out so much money to people who do not deserve it. the rich-poor gap is huge in the west and something needs to be done about it. Thousands of people need medical treatment, and it's unfair and almost inhuman to deny it to them because they just don't have the money - after all, if their education had been better htey would have better jobs and be able to afford health care. there is always a cause.
